Indeed. Spare us, oh! lord, from Goonies spouting stats. They've been lording it over us for 15+ years, and now the boot is moving to the other foot - they don't like it one little bit.

  3. What they cannot accept is that the North London power-shift has been working its way to an inevitable conclusion for quite a number of seasons, certainly since the days of Jol. The idea that any club that does not have the unlimited billions of Arab playboys or Russian oligarchs can simply, one day, top a rival that has been as dominant in the EPL as Arsenal is pure fantasy. Instead, what we have seen is exactly how it was always going to player out, namely, a slow but steady game of cat-and-mouse, with us gaining, year in and year out on them, until the day came when we over-took them. That day, my friends, has now arrived.

The Gooners will tell you Spurs have always "bottled it" and they have ended up finishing above us, but the stats show a different story. We have been steadily gaining on them, season in and season out, for a while. They will also say that the only reason we are above them now is because they are not a patch on the team they used to be. Well, whether that is the case or not, they still have the same manager, they still have a bigger stadium than us, and they still pay far higher average wages than us. If they are a lesser side, it is down to a combination of poor management and the pressure that our superiority over them has exerted.

For me, one of the rewards for having waited for so long for Spurs to become, once again, a force in English football, is seeing the Gooners, the Chavs, and especially the Mickey Mousers scrabble about beneath our feet, fighting for excuses, and I love the fact that the only one any of them can come up with is that they are all each so bad. Well, what a coincidence!

They didn't like it when their stats were shown to be a load of old bollocks.
That carried to this site, unfortunately.
My Chris Brunt > Xavi stats seemed to scupper that, though.

At least Gooners can say their league success didn't end when Margaret Thatcher left office.

I play a recording of fans from a past era on my ipod tbh. Get's a bit disconcerting when they start chanting for Bertie Mee at times... :cheesy:

Is that the one you used to play at Highbury, when the mural was up? <whistle>
Don't get all carried away and start singing yourself and whatever you do, don't stand up.
They'll think you're an opposition fan who's snuck in.

    True.
They don't really put the support in supporter, do they?
Spoiled kids who've never seen the club do too badly, I guess.
    They'll learn. Soon, hopefully... <whistle>

Totally agree with the last line...

...as we have threatened them all with a laminated picture of a fantasy football ground & season tickets at Tottenham High Road FC next year. :p

    Don't worry about next year.
They'll all be supporting City, anyway.
They'll still be watching van Persie, mind.
