Now, i know i'm good with figures, but i'm not accountant.
Obviously there are now strict rules regarding the spending of income with the new FPP rules.
Now, Jewell (and Clegg) have both stated that we have to slash our wage bill to fall in line with the rules. As ME is both our owner and main sponsor..why doesn't he "charge" himself, say, £5m a year to sponsor us? He's gonna get his £5m back, as it's going from one hand into the other. That way we can then pay higher wages, and higher transfer fees, and not have our hands tied.

Makes sense to me...unless there is another strict rule forbidding this that i don't know about.

I'm just hoping it is all a masterplan and we come out on top in the end. Clubs like Barnsley (no offence) that average 6500 home attendance will soon have to cut their cloth accordingly and should mean we have more 'power' than them in the transfer market. Trouble is I don't believe that is the case and the likes of Clegg and his wages takes a big toll on balancing the books.

Middlesborough are averaging under 14,000 home attendances this season! Our team is serving up dross and we still get 16 to 17K at home! We are a big club in this league and we need to stop selling ourselves short. <ok>

Our we proud to be getting 17k though JWM?
If FFP is all about balancing incoming revenue with the amount available to spend than why aren't we competing in the transfer market?

No but just imagine how many we would get to Portman Rd if we had a decent team to support! Under Burley we had 19,000 Season Tickets holders!

We still have a better than average attendance but a below average team than most in the league. Why?

I think we will do well to break the 16,000 mark this Saturday evening, that can't be good can it, the ground will be half empty.?

This was what finally forced Rovers owners to get rid of Keane, falling attendences, I think this season was their lowest average attendance for many years, so maybe every silver cloud & all that....I don't understand that Evans has not grasped that the longer he sticks with jewell each week he is forcing another 100+ Town fans away.?
I bet if he got rid of jewell during the forthcoming international break our next home attendance would be close to 20,000...!

I think when the rules were introduced it was stated that the amount owner-sponsor could put in would have to be in line with 'non-connected' funding at other clubs. For example Man City owners cant simply go and sponsor a dug out for 1 billion if the likes of man u & chelsea are only get 1 million. However it should mean that we should technically be able to get the equal best in the league or possibly a bit higher as long as its not stupidly out of sync.

So, if our wage bill is the quoted 6 million a year.
We average 16k attendance, which puts about half a mill in the bank. Add on that sponsorship, programmes, food etc, that's gotta tot up to about 600k+. Then youve got your tv at one million a season. That adds up to nearly 14 million a year. That gives us a profit of 8 million a year....again, am u missing something????
Or is ME getting his money back ready to do a runner.

we are meant to be paying ME £3m a year in interest payments as when he took us over he didnt write off the debt but took it over which means instead of paying the debt and interest back to the bank we are using ME as a bank. Other than that god only knows. I assume travel, PR ground rent, other staff costs, energy bills, training ground upkeep, PR upkeep.
