Has anyone heard ramblings about our Charlie getting more than a little pissed off with someone in the crowd Saturday, for calling him 'Fat and Lazy' ?? Might all be gonads but f*** me, if its true, then our fan base has really reached an all time low. Anyone hear anything about the incident ?
Only on other sites that someone in r block shouted something which i find absolutely amazing & the blokes a fcuking moron if true.
bloke in r block was having a go all game, apparently there's lots of idiots like that doing the same thing. I might think the same if it was O'Neil, zamora or henry but Austin is our player of the season so far.
I noticed on the club video of his 2nd goal that he was telling someone in R block to shut up by putting his fingers to his mouth. This is completely unbelievable!! What an absolute prick. I hope others around him told him to shut the **** up. Our best player of the season by a country mile, he's already scored one and hit the post and this moron still decides to have a go at him. Defies belief!!
Agree, dicks like that need to be shut up. Last thing we need is our players not feeling our support. It only takes a couple of people like that to be heard and potentially affect how players feel about the club.
From my seat in S block, I could see Charlie Austin pretty incensed by someone in R block after the 2nd goal - looked like the mouthy offender was in the front row or two. Unbelievable!
I don't think Charlie was hushing anyone after the goal; I have seem him (and others) celebrate with a finger to the lips before. Dunno what it means, but I'm pretty sure he was not responding to some idiot in the crowd.
Anyone who thinks that Austin is not giving 100% every week for the cause is an absolute moron. Does this cretin not realise that if it were not for Austin we would be in a relegation fight. It is a thankless task sometimes being the lone striker which Harry has opted for in most matches this season.
Pretty sure he was mate. Players make that gesture to opposition fans usually......NOT their own fans!!
If true, and I hope to high heaven that it is not, it is a strange characteristic of human beings that we can be irritated by the one reprehensible slime ball when compared to the other 17 000 chanting, 'Charlie, Charlie Austin' etc. Beggers belief!!
Outrage because it's Austin? Personally, I don't go to football matches to hurl abuse at my own team's players, no matter how crap they play (we have this place to moan, whine and swear), but obviously there are plenty that do. Some players get this constantly, week in, week out, don't see many posters expressing upset at the behaviour when its SWP, Carroll or Ferdinand (A) who's the target. Its moronic and sometimes makes me want to walk out, but these jerks have paid their money and I suppose if thats they way they want to show their 'support', it's their choice. Of course if their selection of vocabulary is against the club rules, they should be thrown out. I haven't seen this happen at LR for ages, but do remember a bloke at the back of the Lower Loft, when it was standing in the late 80s, getting ejected for swearing. Mind you, he was swearing at a policeman, who was 18 inches away from him. I have some sympathy with Austin's reaction, but really he can't let this kind of idiocy get to him.
Best way to deal with morons like that is to drown them out when they start shouting, if they shout Austin's fat and lazy then straight away everyone around them should stand up and sing 'one Charlie Austin'.
If you watch his goal celebration for the 2nd he was intent on seeking out someone in the crowd, even while he was getting mobbed by team mates he was scowling in that direction. There is always one eh
It shouldn't happen to any player I agree, but I think the fact that it was our best player this season who's just got his 2nd goal of the game really beggars belief. The last two games I've been to there has been someone ejected from the home crowd by stewards, once from R block and against Huddersfield, two from Q block. I have every sympathy with Austin and don't blame him at all for making his point to the twat.
