I have a feeling this will be our main strikeforce. The striker links seem to be getting more and more unrealistic which suggest that we wont be signing a striker.

aluko up front by himself with either Koren or Boyd just behind. Especially in the tough away games.

No chance of us going into the season with that as our strike force we will sign at least one more than likely two strikers

Matty Fryatt, bless him, is nowhere near good enough for the Premier League. Defenders would take the ball off him without him even knowing it!

I agree about Proschwitz, I think he'll have more motivation as a PL player (not that he didn't have any last season, it was just a lack of playing time that made him look worse than he was) and bigger strikers tend to do better at PL level in my opinion (the likes of Rudy Gestede, Conor Wickham and Danny Ings, who tbf was injured never really looked great last season).

I think Aluko will be a great asset; I think a 4-3-1-2 with Boyd in behind our strikers would be a great proposition to start off with, we just need a bit of quality to play along side our Hounslow maestro.

I'm not really sure what you've based that on Strov, he's never actually played in the PL and just like Holt, Lambert and Austin, has scored plenty of Championship goals. We can't be sure how he'd perform until he has a go. Turner, Dawson and Ashbee hadn't played there either, but it seemed to work out pretty well for us. I think Brucey will keep him in the squad and give him a good go and if he doesn't cut the mustard, he'll be shipped out on loan somewhere in January.

I base it on watching him.

Holt and Lambert are specific types of players and offer very different attributes to Matty.

Even then, Holt was a bit of a one season wonder, which might also be the case with Lambert this season.

All successful Premier League strikers, and by that I mean ones that will get you 12-15 goals a season, have good levels of technical ability and pace. Matty is actuall quit capable technically but he has absolutely no pace. If the defenders you are up against are as good if not better than you and you have no pace to compensate, you just ain't going to make it at the top level.

Pace alone isn't everything, just look at Berbatov. Matty can finish, we know that and he isn't the slowest player we have on our books. He doesn't need pace because he gets himself into positions that negate the need for it. He's a poacher essentially; he'll score tap ins/6 yarders rather than go for the spectacular. He's been our top goalscorer 2 out of 3 seasons while he's been here, so to say he just won't cut it isn't really fair until he's had a go. We have Aluko/Boyd/Brady/Elmo to provide pace, but we need a clinical finisher and that's what I think Fryatt is. Or was before his injury.

Holt wasn't really a 1 season wonder, he still managed 8 in the PL and finished as their top scorer in a 4-5-1.

Fair enough, as you say nobody knows for sure because he's never player in the Premier League.

However, one last indicator might be to look at his scoring record in the Championship. Not exactly at the Jordan Rhodes or Charlie Austin level, is it? Would you think it would be maintained in the Premier League? Don't think so!

That won't be until after pre-season though.

I think we'll get him back in as well. He would be a good addition who would help create a bit of competition for a place in the first XI, and would help create squad depth as well.

His scoring record isn't bad, he finished with 16 in 2011-12 and 9 the season before in half a season. The season just gone is a bit of a write off for him and Dudgeon, but I've seen enough of Matty to suggest he'll do alright. I don't think, however, we'll be relying on him as our out and out striker next year. Expect to see him as an impact player.

As for Gedo, he's supposed to be out until October, so if he is going to sign, either we'll wait until January or just not bother. I'd like to see him back, but I honestly don't think there's much point signing him if he's going to miss the first 3 months of the PL season.

Where are all the fryatt lovers now? he is so passed it, we should
    be selling.

Prozzy/Gedo with Aluko sounds good to me.

If we do get a striker and we do get Gedo then we gotta get rid of one IMO.

A strike force of Proschwitz, Fryatt, Aluko and somebody else would suit me. Anybody else will probably be a loan (Bendtner, some foreigner). Bruce rates Fryatt (as do I), I doubt he'll leave before January.

If he's past it at 27, I despair for Gedo, who's a year his senior.

    What's a Fryatt lover?

If you are trying to include me in some opinion that Fryatt is shyte, you can get lost.

Matty Fryatt is a thoroughly good pro. Like ALL PLAYERS, he has his level and whilst I think he makes a competent Championship player, I don't think he is good enough for the Premier League. That is just an opinion, but I am not a a "Hater" or a "Lover". Indeed there are very few City players who I hate or love.
