Can you believe "Mr" Evans has sent a DVD to the FA complaining about the Ref's performance and the "elbow" by Burton! Seems to miss the part where His guy nearly took off Vincelot's head. http://www.themillers.co.uk/news/article/evans-to-send-footage-536542.aspx?pageView=full I've tried to stay out of this but enough is enough. He's complained (incorrectly) about racist abuse following our defeat of Crawleylast year, now this. I really wish a hole would open up under him and swallow him. Is there a hole big enough though?
I'm will abide by our own board rules although I feel the need for some strong words towards Mr Evans. As you say Gemini, I hope he has included the part where Vincelot's head was nearly fffffff taken out. please log in to view this image
The trouble is the ref booked there player and this means the league can't do anything, where as because no punishment was given to Deon they can saying the ref didn't see it.
The FA can do what they like, if they like! http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/m/man_city/5281686.stm
Taking the "society of black lawyers" or whatever they're called, and taking their lead after seeing them get involved in any, all and even matters (that don't concern them) when a hint of racism is suspected, I wonder if we could report Taylor to the local police authority for GBH or something for his "challenge" on Vincelot?
The time has come ( a long time ago ) to have a more realistic grade of yellow card. How can it be right that the same punishment is given to Taylor for his reckless challenge on Vincelot, as was given to Charlie Lee for not getting into position quickly enough to take a throw in. - but then, don't they say that the law is an ass ?
Thanks for posting that brb, I remember when he left they done that, it does show that he is universally loved by all players, mostly his own.
A very good point you raise. I was going to write a short while back about Nelson's red card. For his 'professional foul' i.e. preventing a goal scoring opportunity, one would assume. The punishment was as follows: Red card Reduced to 10 men Penalty Goal scored Two points lost and nearly three Banned for the next competitive game Fines Not forgetting having to recall a player out on loan Now look at the incident with Vincelot, a professional foul in the two examples has been applied with a much higher degree of punishment than putting someone in hospital regardless of intentions of opponent.
So what do we feel should be done? Is there a case for retrospective punishment? For say diving or when a punishment handed out at the time was incorrect. If a club feels that something has not been dealt with correctly they have to make a written request to the FA or football league (whichever one deals with this) within 1 working day (that's plenty of time to email or fax a request) for them to review the incident? Or is it best to just leave it as is?
I think I read somewhere officially that the situation was being reviewed in the laws of the game. Either that or I made it up in my crazy mind!
I think the manager of Rotherham should be very careful here, he clearly says on the Rotherham website that referee said that he had clear view of the incident involving Burton and (rightly or wrongly) did not deem the challenge worthy of a yellow card, so however he dresses this up he is clearly challenging the referees authority. We all moan about decisions made by referees in almost every game, those of us who have refereed at what ever level know that it is a thankless task, (I have been abused as a linesman at under 10 matches this season), but this sort of pressure from managers (however much he claims it to be to assist the ref in the future) does not help and could be seen as bringing the game into disrepute, there will have been a referees assessor at the match and it his job to bring any problems with refs performance to the attention of the authorities not the bitter manager who's team lost the match.
and thats how he will come across to everyone apart from a few blinded rotherham fans. hes only hurting his own reputation at the end of the day
jokeykid(606) - the only thing that might hurt Mr.Evan's reputation is if he were to be outed as a *****phile - anything else can only enhance a reputation that is about as low as it can get when it relates to matters on football.
