Having been to a few games recently and the most recent yesterday I have been able to see Altidore play at first hand and I have no idea what to make of this lad. Concentrating on yesterday, he basically just stood about, never broke into a sweat once, not even when Gardner played him through late on and the defender some how intercepted it which should never of been the case. Also not forgetting the cheer from the crowd late on when he won his first header. I do not have a clue if Poyet is telling him to occupy the centre halfs or what! * he isn't the type for the ball to get launched at him like a Andy Carroll * not someone who will look to run in behind like a Djibrill Cisse * not a poacher like Hernandez * and he doesn't look to make a quick movement to get away from the defender, get the ball and create something. Yesterday he was poor but its all about attitude as well, he didn't even look to make things happen just stood around absolutely baffling! Even I would of had more of an impact than him yesterday.
Bravo. At last an assessment on him which doesn't abuse him. It's good to there's still some class about here regarding Jozy. I agree fella. He's a puzzle alright. Just don't think he's a striker. Think we'll get our money back in the summer though by packing him off back to the US which I think would be in his best interest. One thing is for certain, he as no long term loyalty to our club. If I'd received the abuse he has while on the pitch my efforts would be significantly reduced and I'd be more concerned with my get out plan cause he'll never regain his confidence playing for us.
The fans have killed him so that's why he doesn't look interested no more. I don't blame the lad to. hopefully he signs for a better club.
Yeh I agree with you.i have stood by him while. He was given his chance.he has not been rushed or given an excessive overload,he has been used as and when required but has not produced the goods.as for fletcher well do we give him the benefit of the doubt, due to injuries.he also hasn't performed to the way we know he can.
