Not sure if this has been mentioned so sorry if it has. Rumours are rife up here that a bid has been put in for Nuggsy. Anyone know if there's been a firm offer made? Nos was a legendary icon at Sunderland but had us with our hearts in our mouths when he tried to dribble out of defence in a Johann Cruyff type of way, lol. Good solid CB mind. If you get him, good luck to the lad.
Hey lovely , here's the latest from Sky Sports News http://www1.skysports.com/football/...=Feed: WatfordFC (Watford FC ... Latest News) i'm praying with everything i have!
I see. Well I wouldn't imagine there'd not be much of a fee as his contract is up at the end of the season. Might have to settle for a pay cut mind. £35k a week here after Bruce gave him a new contract then sent him out on loan to two different clubs!
I would love to see this happen, which will probably mean it wont! But if a price can be agreed im sure all parties will be happy. He was the best CB since JDM here, so he is a valuable asset and if he is only likely to be a finge player with the black cats, he would be mad not to move!!
yes, i remember you telling me that's what he was on. There's no way he'd get close to that here, as far as i know we still have a max of £5k a week! So not sure what terms he'd agree, but it'll be very good news if he does come back, he was fantastic for us when he was with us and having been allowed to play in the 3rd round of the FA Cup, he's cup tied, which helps our cause i'd say
Well the problem now is that Martin O'Niell has said he want's to take a look at the full squad, including those out on loan & we have three defenders out atm so it will be up to Marty now like as to what happens next. He came back to us yesterday I believe.
Watford web site says he's signed a 2 1/2 year contract - he says on the web site Watford feels like home!! Done deal
Undisclosed - probably not a lot as we ain't got no money! Good luck to Sunderland my missus has family who support the Black Cats
Link here; http://www.watfordfc.com/page/NewsDetail/0,,10400~2571893,00.html No mention of a fee.... also can't see him dropping from £35k to £5k, even if he did only have 6 months of his contract left, so maybe Bas has relaxed the wage structure a little - or gotten round it somehow But well done the board for backing Dyche, and thanks to Sunderland for making the deal work. Let's hope he can keep up the performances
Aye, well good luck to you boys (& girls) too mate. Tbh, we needed him off the wage books as well, guess we will never know the fine print on the contract but that's worked out well all round. <thumbsup>
I'm surprised there was a fee at all. I assumed that any money on offer would have gone to Nosworthy to take the pay cut, given that Sunderland were keen to get an unused £35,000 pw player off of their books and we would have been keen not to give him a weekly wage completely outside of the existing structure.
Brilliant news eh H? Now I wonder who is next a cheeky little bid for TS, get him out of the stables at Steptoes yard strike whilst MH is still trying to find his feet
I am nearly crying with joy!!! It's been one of those days. Best signing since Danny graham! We are going up, sing we are going up!!!
The compensation would probably cover his last 6 months.....but after that he would be released and it would be hard to imagine him getting much more than £5k p/w from any other club....
I'd agree with that to an extent. I think Nyron knows he wasn't looking at anything like £35k in his next contract, and he'll have written that off in order to guarantee a contract until 2014. A signing on fee would've been more to compensate for some of the £5-10k per week extra that other clubs would have been able to offer. I'm nervous about what this means with Mariappa though. Taylor and Nosworthy will be right at the top of our list of earners, and Mapps won't be far behind. It's difficult to see the club sustaining that sort of spending on three centre backs in the long run.
35k a week was reported in the local press up here when Brucie extended his contract so don't take it as deadly accurate. We got Nos on a free from Gillingham & he served us well so imho it would have been wrong for us to demand a fee. Maybe that's what the "undisclosed" thing is then. Compen so to speak.
Ditto to that - I was worried that the Nos deal was being financed by expected income from the sale of Mapps
