Hi, not been on for a little while - hope your all doing well!

Too much has happened for me to mention, so I will just talk about the future rather than the past and I'm excited for the game v Man Utd. I see it as a game where our players will raise their games - games like this are why you become a pro footballer, to test yourself against the best and I fancy us to nick a point from it.

They are a top class team and will more than likely score as our fullbacks aren't up to standard unfortunetly, although I do rate Santon as a player with a lot of potential.

Jonas has not been playing too well recently imo, but not sure we can afford to drop him, so a big kick up the arse is in need as he is key for us in this game to stop Valencia from getting crosses in (like he did v Pennant).

Personally, this would be my team v Man Utd:

    Krul

    Simpson, Willo, Colo, Santon

    Taylor, Tiote, Cabaye, Jonas

    Best, Ba

Was thinking maybe Hatem instead of Best, but with Man Utd weak in defence, I think we should play 2 up top and in reality, we don't support Ba too much with him up top on his own so hopefully Best can return to his good form he had at the beginning of the season if he does play. Also, on Hatem - if he is in the team imo, we don't seem to play his game. We need to pass to him and support him - we never seem to do this so atm we suit more 4-4-2 imo.

    Thoughts?

Agree with everything, except I would definitely start Ben Arfa ahead of Best. Bring Best on at half time if it isn't working, but I think it will.

Would go along with this and give it an hour, think Man Utd will have a point to prove after a poor defeat to Blackburn on News Years Eve. Also worth remembering that Man Utd are unbeaten in the league away and haven't dropped away points since 15th October.

    Oh just found this thread.

Glad your back. Your absence was noticed by a few of us! Hope your well and I look forward to reading what you have to say in the future.

Onto the Man Utd game and I agree with your line up. I think that with Man Utd's weakened defence Best and Ba will have enough space to make an impact.
Hopeful of a point in this one!

That's what I like to hear a little positivity when the bodies are filling up the trenches.

Also, forgot to mention about Gary Speed - I wasn't on here during the period where he died.

He will be sadly missed and I was gutted when he died, still can't believe it now.

Legend! Not in a Barton kind of way where he plays good for a season and people call him one - he played brilliant all the time for years and helped us be successful.

    RIP Gazza lad!
