    I guess so, it was only him and racon in the midfield who's contracts were up, unless someone has bought mccormack!

    So our midfield now consists of:

    Wagstaff
    Pritchard
    McCormack
    Hollands
    Alonso
    Jackson
    Harriot
    (Evina possibly at LM)

    Good enough?

    Jackson, Hollands and Wagstaff yes. Hopefully Alonso will be good enough (i don't know anymore about him than he knows about me!)
    With Pritchard, Mccormack and Harriott off the bench, not bad.

    As much as many seem to dislike Macca, I would rather him step into the breach than an untried youngster should we get injuries in the middle. He isn't the best, agreed, but it is still better to have a squad and not just bare bones.

    The Alonso signing is great. Add another winger or two and we can then concentrate on defence. Happy days!

    Agreed, we need another Right Mid to challenge Wagstaff, and I'd also try get rid of McCormack and bring in another Centre-mid, perhaps Parrett on loan again?

    Does anybody know how long Alonso has signed for? I know Evina and Hayes signed for 2 and 3 years respectively but don't know about Alonso.

    Its funny how a player who has seen his team relegated twice in 2 years is seen as good enough, but ones that have been relegated once in 4 years are seen as signs of faliure?

    I'm happy as he has bags of top flight experience. Plus, we don't blame semedo for the failure.. But he has been in a team that has failed 3 out of 4 seasons, so because of that feel we need to start afresh.

    I know macca aint that great BUT he gives his all and not as bad as everyone says he is...confidence is low so performances suffer..I admit it i`m not a Macca hater

    Happy happy happy with this signing, a far superior replacement for Racon - who in my humble opinion is a very talented and skilled player who more often than not just can't be arsed.
    Out with the old and in with the new. I think this is the most bizarre transfer period we've ever had.
