Folks im stuck abroad at the mo in Menorca, where I bumped into another felllow season ticket holder this morning. We were discussing the Alonso situation and how the transfer dosent appear to be progressing as well as expected. Anyway what worried me most of all was the fact that this fella, told me that Alonso had apparantly featured in every single one of Fiorentinas pre season games. Heres me thinking the lad was about 4th in the pecking order at full back over there..Can any of you folks confirm wether youve heard anything similar, as uf its the case, then It dosent bode well.. Sorry if its already been discussed folks, by the way.
I believe originally Fiorentina's captain was the LB but he was getting on Hence he was practically finished but had replaced him with Alonso for the future
There was always a chance Fiorentina kept the lad, we seen first hand the improvement in him, he went back a far better player. Paqual, the first choice, is getting on in years now so it doesn't surprise me, it's a shame but we will be alright now, I think when we signed PVA it was clear the Alonso deal wasn't happening.
We've developed their player for them, so the loan arrangement has worked out well for them Shame for us
