Both players are in talks with clubs after being released, obviously not Leeds, more likely to be Villa, Fulham, Sunderland or Liverpool or Leicester lol. But would you take them if they signed?? Almunia - Does have potential and lots of experience, like all keepers has his hoo doo's but more than everyone else it seems. 34 good age for a keeper. Bendtner - Nowhere near worldclass, average premier league quality and his Arsenal exploits show he can link up and move a ball aswell as looking clumsy, would if he was free but his wages will be bigger than Ken Bates's list of people he's annoyed
I'd really like Almunia, but wages would be a stumbling block. Bendtner thinks far too much of himself to play in the Championship.
Wages should be ok for us tho, 24,000 fans x 23 games, plus the televised games which is about 6/7 a season. We Pay the most expensive prices in the championship, we shd be laughing in terms of paying good wages. He just wont fork anything out will he, best freebie this season wld be Hargreaves, pay as you play, he'll take anything atm, apart from a Millwall contract
But we don't get half of what PL teams get in terms of sponsorship and TV money and we don't have a rich Asian owner. We can pay more than most Championsip clubs without getting into debt (see Ipswich) but can't compete with teams like Leicester and West Ham.
yea but i reckon leicester will be dissapointed and will end up in debt, there taking a big risk and i dont think it will pay off
**** me you all just dont get it do you? King power who own us are worth 100s of million its their money they are globalising their companys brand, they are not borrowing any money, their business plan includes working towards self suffiiciency, they are injecting cash to get us promoted. They are here 4 the long term its not a risk its all their own capital. So sorry and all that but you dont know what you are talking about. back to the thread almunia and bendtner to leeds? good one guys keep them coming
Won't matter, they'll just do what every other club in debt does, get a new owner who will write it off. Were one of the few that even made a mess of that
There's also going to be a new addition to the Leicester boardroom in the form of a trophy cabinet as you haven't needed one up till now! Good luck with buying success,in another 100 years you may have caught up with us!
thats right mate spout on about the past its all you have left. You sing you were champions of europe even though you never won it, when you bought your success how did that end up? As ive said we aint borrowing mate we have the money so we are spending it, no risk at all. Enjoy your mid table season.
That's not the point. What we're saying is that spending loads of money has never been the way to get to the PL. Having a close knit group of players who know each other and want to do well for the club they're playing for for reasons other than their huge pay packet is. I'm afraid you ust don't seem to have that. You spent loads in January and failed so now you're spending more money trying to replace the expensive failures.
Why should a club forget its past? It's only the clubs without no history that say we talk about the past. And like Leicester have a great future to look forward to - midtable Premier League at best. There is also a reason that we sing champions of europe.
reason being? presumably you felt robbed? Wel fine example of living in the past then. Leeds are a massive club with great support and i have nothing against you but you, ipswich saints, and particularly hull are harping on about us going bust silly spending etc etc. Its like talking to a matt mills (brick wall) trying to explain we are not spending what we dont have or borrowing. The division is so good this year we need players. Only 3 teams let in more than us last year hence mills and st ledger. A part from mills we have spent 3.8m on 5 players, 2 from league 1 its hardly earth shattering. Your points about team ethic are very valid, thats sven and dezzas job, as well as our core players like ritchie wellens, andy king and matt oakley. Im excited but am not counting my chickens, w dstill need a good attacker, hopefully maynard if not then the yak or billy sharp. Anyway good luck fellas you are agood bunch on here.
Thanks . We didn't feel robbed, we were robbed, I suggest you watch the highlights. Then we weren't allowed to defend our title until it became the Champion's League, hence why we will forever be the holders of the EC.
