    a mate of mine at work claims to have heard from "the club's solicitor" (whoever that might be) that we've bid £11.5 for Andy Carrol.

    I think Beardsley is the club's solicitor.

    Can absolutely see this happening now they're spending £12m on Enner Valencia. Good shout.

    Only concern I have is if we did get Carroll, does that mean we would be aiming for the hoofball football style again?

    De jong, cabella, colback etc are far too technically gifted to be dragged into that.

    Not really as Carroll is equally effective in passing teams. The bets link up I saw him have was with Wilshere etc at U21 in a 433.

    I would love him back in so many ways and he'll always score goals here. That injury record would be the concern.
