Given, however, the lackadaisical manner in which acquisitions have been announced in the past and further given he will be a record breaking purchase, when do you think the Club will actually announce that the deal is completed?

watched about 10 mins of him on youtube this morning, jesus this lad can play by the looks of it. Doesn't have a right foot by the looks of it but he looks very very good and exactly what we need. Someone who will run with the ball, worry defenders, draw fouls, bring other players into the game and has some killer passes under that left peg, knows where the onion bag is as well. I'm a little bit excited but I'm not gonna count my chickens yet.

Don't be daft, they haven't signed him because they are bowing to threats from Rafa or worrying about TV money. If our 10 years under this **** have taught us anything, its that relegation holds no fears and managers are just disposable items. You're giving Rafa way too much credit. We're still 1m in profit remember.

No definitely not. Charnley is just a puppet that is happy for Mike to ram his hand up.

All Ashley has done is spent some of the clubs money. We are still 1m in profit on transfers afterall. I was cracking on with a bloke next to me and he made a telling remark. All he said was "20m? Great. Its not about breaking transfer records. Its about consistent development of the squad over a sustained period. We should be buying and strengthening every window like everyone else. The reality is they will think job done and then leave the thing to depreciate again." I think he is right.

 

Landed in London a couple of hrs ago (presumably because there's no direct flight) according to Chronicle twitter
