It's something that football fans are continually discussing. Who would get in their clubs all time 11. Would players from past seasons be able to compete in today's game? Who would get into your alltime11?
Close, but..... -----------------------------Carra-------------------------- Carra--Carra--Carra--Carra--Carra--Carra--Carra--Carra--Carra ------------------------------------------------------------- -----------------------------Carra--------------------------
It always amazes me when people say that a player from years ago would struggle in todays game! FFS they reached the top of the game, doing more than enough to suggest they would have the ability/drive to do the same in a different era. Infact you could equally argue with better fitness some of those guys would be better than some of the players we have in today's game! People still talk of Dalglish being our best ever, Clemence the best keeper etc...
it is complete bollox that statement cos if those players were around today they would be benefiting from all the advances in training health medical care and tech and would in fact be fitter stronger players than they were in past years, maybe not by much but I say this. If George Best played today instead of then, he'd be 3 times the player he was then. Not so for players of recent decades, anyone in the 80s could play this modern game, albeit getting sent off 20 times a season Teams have evolved, team tactics but a player like Suarez can still thrive so would someone like Best, I mention those two cos they are\were prolific at walking past players
