Only just seen this. I never knew or met the man. Its obvious how people felt about him from all the heart felt messages. Anyone that has a thread dedicated to them obviously had some recognition and respect. Nothing can be said to anyone suffering with the loss that will make the grief easy, but, reading the posts on this thread could maybe help. "Wise men say, only fools rush in, but I can't help, falling in love with you". RIP fella.
Thanks to everyone able to donate and for the lovely messages from everyone. As requested by the family the money collected will go to the prostate charity rather than flowers. As the old saying almost goes flowers only last a day. However there'll be a permanent little tribute, from the forum, which will go to the family in the New Year. It'll be posted on here and we're sure everyone will be pleased with it. The donation facility will close in the next few days with an incredible total of £375 so far.
Nice words Smug and it's great that our little group were able to contribute in a small way for Allan.
I will look for the donation facility later after work. If I balls it up can I just give you the cash on the day? Will let you know how I get on.
More by fluke than design. I prefer cash so will stick a few bob in the collection plate there. Will be nice to see you & GA just a shame the occasion .
I may be wrong but I think tomorrow is the funeral? To those of you going you are also going on our behalf and I hope it all goes well. RIP Allan
As far as I know it's only Gil and I that are able to attend (unless anybody knows differently - let us know), and we'll send our mutual/collective respects from here
I can't remember the address . . . . I just know where it is (I've been a few times ), but it is near there.
Its further up from the hospital near the Wavendon pub (affectionately known as the Crematorium Arms as most people end up there afterwards). On the A183 into or out of Sunderland depending on your direction of travel.
Ok mate I now know where it is. Was there a few years ago for my grandad. If I can get away from work I will be there.
I've wanted to go, Allan was a wonderful friend. The 8 hour round trip wasn't a problem but work has gradually backed me into a corner. This will be our busiest time of the year and I daren't leave Mrs Smug alone to cope. Allan would understand having met her. ------- You've got a new donation Your total raised for Allan Crago - thanks for being part of our lives is now £395
