Very sad news, had the pleasure of a few sessions with him and he kept in touch with my dad while he was ill, I didn’t realise he was poorly himself

RIP Alan I’m sure @grandpops will have a pint and a game of snooker with him in the billiard room in the sky

I can only speak for myself but all these messages have really helped cope with this ...

... the last time I looked the total for a floral tribute was at £170 which is fantastic.

I've no idea yet what the forum should send but I'm sure Tees, or someone, can suggest a local florist.7
Any ideas about what should be sent would be welcome ...

... perhaps simply 'Mr RAWhite' as we all know him.

****'s sake. That's so sad. Always seemed incredibly decent.

Only met him once very briefly with @Smug in Boots . The comments on here and over the road show what a lovely man he was. R.I.P Allan and deepest condolences to all his family and friends and to all on here who knew him.

This is quite a shock, didn’t know he was ill. As well as being a top supporter he was such a family man, very proud of his wife, sons and daughter. My deepest condolences to them and his many friends who must be devastated. R.I.P.

I've just checked, and a big bouquet type thing should be about £120, so we could get one that says 'RAW' (red 'R' a white 'A' and a red 'W') similar to 'MAM' or 'DAD' :emoticon-0148-yes:
Family might not agree (we'd have to ask & explain, but his wife & kids know about his association with this site), and there'll probably be one that says 'DAD' for one side, but it's an idea :emoticon-0112-wonde

I understand the protocol of a 'private message' on forums so had a good think, and reread Allan's message, before I posted this.

There's nothing people close wouldn't already know and I think it's a testimony to his character ...

... he didn't want everyone knowing so they'd treat him just as they always did.

    ..........................................

    "Hi lads
Just a quick note to say that I have been diagnosed with prostrate cancer and will be starting treatment in the coming days. Can you pass info on to your dad Tees mate.
I have known for a few weeks now but MRI scan confirmed everything today. Doc says I could have had it for years without knowing.
    Get tested regularly lads.
    All the best
    Allan.

    MrRAWhite, Jul 1, 2021

Incidentally, any money pledged will either be used for the floral tribute or something extra such as a 'brick in the wall' at the SOL or whatever ....

... all contributions are equally appreciated and part of the flowers.

Thanks to you and everyone else.

A percentage of all donations, whenever received, will go towards flowers for Allan. Any money remaining will be used respectfully and hopefully with help from Tees and the family.

SAFC was clearly a significant part of Allan's life and, while not at all as important as his family, is how most of us knew him whether through his posts or at the games.

So I'm sure we'll find something R&W to provide a lasting tribute to the lad.

    £220 atm ... magnificent!

I've been in touch with Allan's son this afternoon, and I'll be ringing him tomorrow. He said that his dad wouldn't want a floral tribute, preferring a donation to 'Prostate Cancer UK' in his name . . . . so that's favourite now.
I'll post after I've spoken to him tomorrow :emoticon-0148-yes:

... I have a horrible feeling it was his round <laugh>

I didn't realise but my father in law knew him really well and brought it up yday. I connected the dots and it's the same person. He told me lots of stories about him and how much of a massive lads fan he was. Really is a small world sometimes.
