Not sure if posted already....I'm sure it has but I've not had chance to trawl the forum but I notice the Allams have once again snubbed the council & the fans of the club by declining a civic reception & open top bus tour...... The sooner those two are no longer involved with this club the better.....just got to hope the potential buyers find nothing amiss during due diligence & that the club is finally sold
NO Hull City parade or civic reception for Wembley play-off heroes http://www.hulldailymail.co.uk/Hull...Wembley-play/story-29334260-detail/story.html
Players including Abel Hernandez, Wembley goal-scoring hero Mo Diame, Irish international David Meyler and Scottish players Andy Robertson and Robert Snodgrass are all expected to play international fixtures in the coming days. The current state of the city centre, which is undergoing a huge transformation ahead of City of Culture 2017, is also thought to have influenced the decision.
Cheers I hadn't seen that So in summary the City Council offered to host something, the club turned the offer down Only at City
I can understand the problems with a bus tour and any appearances in the square like 2008, but there would have been no harm in accepting an invitation to a civic reception attended by the remaining go players and representatives of the club. Of course that would be an example of bridge building and the Allams may build generators but they don't build bridges.
No reason the reception couldn't be after the Euros and at the beginning of pre-season. Its unlikely that we'll all have forgotten we got promoted.
Good luck with driving an open top bus round town anyway..... Open Day at the stadium in July/Aug anyone?
I think something at the beginning of the season should be considered. An open top tour doesn't have to go round the town centre it could finish in West Park with music and entertainment.
Will everyone sit in silence, demanding to be entertained, before they applaud the team as they walk, around the pitch?
