If anyone needed any more proof about Allam and the badge/name change take a look at this that I spotted on Look North last week. The badge has even been changed on the '10 years at the KC Stadium' picture. That was not our badge back then. If this doesn't prove his motive is nothing to do with FUTURE income and the club progressing etc then I don't know what does. I have had that small amount of doubt that he is just doing all this because he genuinely believes it will make more money but that doubt has gone now. He isn't just trying to change things from now on, he is removing our history.
Put him in the same room as Jim Carver( alcoholic rozzer from The Bill) and Keith Chegwin( alcoholic no mark from Cheggers Plays Pop) and you'd be one confused mo fo. FACT.
I don't get this thread. We have a new badge and we have it on the damn shirts... It wouldn't make sense to change the shirt but not all the other things. Whether it be promotional stuff or posters or leaflets or letterheads.
So - back in the day, Waggy and Chillo played for Hull Tigers? And wore a shirt with '1904' on it? Thought not......
Did you think before writing this? He didn't wear our current shirt either or the one Frazier campbell is wearing in that picture..what's your point? It's simple brand continuity ffs... not rocket science.
All you're interested in is another Allam bashing bullshit which frankly we could all do without right now while we enjoy a rare spell of happiness. You make it sound like he's doing it as a personal insult to our history. If we got a new kit done and it was to appear in the background of a TV interview you'd make sure you wouldn't have the old kit on display. Obviously the new badge design was done with a sad motive but that's old news now, the badge is everywhere from programs to kits, of course you're going to want to keep some sort of continuity going and refresh everything around the club.
The point is, that poster is a couple of years old, it's a poster produced to celebrate ten years at the KC and it's rather petty to remake an old poster just to get the new logo on it. What next, they take down all the old photos of players and photoshop the new badge onto them? Personally, I'm neither surprised or particularly upset about this one, it's just one of a very long list of examples of our owner trying to remove 'city' from everything. It will all be reversed before too long.
The point Wade, is that picture is an historic representation of a time that pre-dates the badge/name change. It is not normal to go back and modernise historic memorabilia, in fact, it is seriously concerning. Changing the name of the club is all about the future, according to AA, but to go back and ammend memorabilia is something else, it is spiteful, it is arrogant, it is massively disrespectful to all of those who played a part in that era and it must be stopped. The 'keep him sweet' campaign that has been used in fighting the name-change has run it's course, it must be switched to a more aggressive (not violent), more responsive campaign that attacks his actions and integrity. He should not be called a **** (as with Flaskgate) as that is self harming, but he should be shown to be one, time and time again until it rattles his cage, which it most definitely will. No more waiting for folk to pick up on things, start a campaign that charts the history of this fool, put him into context, shame him for who and what he is. Make it public, make it national, make it international; tie it to his marine generator business, tie it to his 'good' works, tie it to his personal integrity and that of his family. Dont make anything up, you don't need to; sacrifice his largesse, refuse his invitations, don't dine with the devil. Get back to basics and make this piece of **** squirm, because he will, he has far more to lose than we have.
Not wanting to get into another name change debate but Waggy and Chillo's shirts didn't have a badge on them and when the badge was reintroduced it was only a tigers head
The way I see it is this, you have 2 options: 1. Organise a protest at the ground, visibly demonstrate how much support you have. 2. Spout ****e online, which sounds lovely and stirring and gets you a few likes on a forum. Which will it be? The suspense is killing me. (please do the first one if you can, the last times they were done, was funny).
3. Wait a week or two until the FA arbitration decision is in and see if, after being told definitively that the name can't be changed, the owners stop all the nonsense and move on for the benefit of the club(and themselves).
You have no natural inclination for dealing with facts, but that's okay, we know that. Try and think a little harder, take the blinkers off.
Yeah you're both right, stick to the Internet and writing angry letters. Easier to ignore the lack of actual popular support if any effort is required for your views.
