PVA should play further forward, a long time ago. Give yourself a pat (pun) on the back. You may well be right. Pretty ****ing ****e in defence, but is quick and scores. How can we capitalise on this?
Could try three at the back again, trouble is getting SC, JoS, and YK fit as they are our only CB,s at the club, judgement is out atm on JK for obvious reasons. We really nead to stop chasing ambulances and get some alternatives in, but dont hold your breath anybody. Could try JR there as he is useless as a midfield player imo.
Though for a while about Rodwell at the back. Now the thought of him being anywhere near the pitch makes me nervous.
A new, proper LB which releases PVA to the LW would be like having 2 new players. Imagine if we could have had Rose as LB with PVA in front of him. Could we get Rose for say £12 million? Money well spent giving us a terrific left side. Then, just another £35 million for a CB, RB and a midfielder to go with M'Vila and Catts. When are Larsson and Kaboul due back?
Not sure exactly but SA said they are both expected back soon. As much as he gets a hard time on here, i reckon Larsson will make a difference. Sunderland boss Sam Allardyce admits he is expecting a busy final week of the transfer window as he looks to add quality to his squad. The Black Cats were held to a 1-1 draw at the Stadium of Light by AFC Bournemouth, Patrick van Aanholt rescuing a point after the hosts fell behind to a Benik Afobe header. Allardyce admits he will be "busy" this week ahead of the transfer window closing at 11pm on Monday, February 1. Sunderland don't have a game next weekend after being knocked out of the FA Cup by Arsenal, the next match a week Tuesday at home to Manchester City. Allardyce said: "From our point of view we now have a week to get the lads back fully fit and we haven't picked up too many injuries, which is a blessing. "The squad is pretty fit and Younes Kaboul will be back soon, Seb Larsson too. "I will probably be busy in the market until when the window shuts." The Black Cats boss admitted his side could have snatched all three points at the Stadium of Light, with Billy Jones' header saved late on. But Allardyce was pleased Sunderland, at least, picked up a point. "West Brom, Southampton, those were times when we could have picked a point up and more," added Allardyce. "But this time we got a point. "We lost our nerve for a while but recovered and that is very important for me." http://www.sunderlandecho.com/sport/sunderland-afc/latest-safc-news/safc-match-analysis/sunderland-boss-expecting-busy-final-week-of-transfer-window-1-7692839#ixzz3yAsIRGbq
Been saying it since day 1. fast as f*ck, likes a shot and a pretty bloody good crosser of the ball. Unfortunately it has been evident for f*cking yonks but cos he was bought as a left back thats where he must play. Some managers coaches etc are clueless they really are.
I don't know if he would be as effective on the wing.. He gets his attacking success from overlapping our winger. If he was on the wing, he would have less space to attack, and marked by the oppositions right back.. It's worth a go for sure, but if we could brush him up on his defensive duties, he would be invaluable to us.
WE could have a reasonably strong team with SL & YK back together with new additions for our (hopefully) final relegation battle before our premier lift off next season - gotta keep positive
