Not Cavanis, Not Falcaos - just because we will make another Shevchenko let alone Torres - out of them !! I just can't emphasize this enough. Please share your thoughts and who do you think would be good for us. This is for blues alone. Others just feckoff!
Hmmmm its not the profile, but the blend. We need strikers that complement each other, complement the midfield, and provide options tactically. This kind of signing however requires a certain amount of insight which by all evidence is lacking in our current heirarchy. What we will end up signing is the current hot topic.
I want us to go for Lewandowski as his contract finishes at the end of next season so i don't think he'd cost anything more than 20m!
If we continue with our current "tactics" and set up, of one up front, we need a striker with strength and height. If ,as we should , we sort out our midfield and get a player to run the show, then the choice of striker gets a whole lot easier. Then, any of the lethal, accurate type becomes an option, with strength being less important. In Mata ,Oscar, Hazard, we have loads of goals waiting to happen. With Luiz and Lampard, our set piece goals are in good hands. If we can only get a player to better link the back and the front, with Lukaku to return, we look OK. We already have Chalobah, Kevin De Bruyne, Lucas Piazon and Josh. Why don't we use them??
We just bought a low profile striker, Ba. Give him time, Lukaku is however the best option, given the team set up at the moment. Jesus the guy is only 19 and fitting in well with a prem' team. I for one would love to see him back feeding off our imperious midfield. CP, De Bruyne is on loan to the end of the season.
So lets round up a few lower profile options than your Falcaos and your Cavanis Lets also say for argument sake that our options at present are Torres, Ba & Lukaku with Torres to depart Robert Lewandowski - Age 24 - Borussia Dortmund - Cont Exp 2014 - Price tag 18-20m Very clinical striker, most peoples frontrunners but seems to be set for United or Bayern. Would take in a heartbeat and wages are pretty low so not too much Heung Min Son - Age 20 - Hamburg - Cont Exp 2014 - Price Tag 10m Movement is very good, has scored against Chelsea in pre-season as a teenager. Would add some extra marketing as well as being a highly sought after player. Hamburg connections are good and they want Jeffrey Bruma on permanent so the price could drop, still very young. Christian Benteke - Age 22 - Aston Villa - Cont Exp 2016 - Price Tag 14m We dont need to say much about thi guy, we have seen him week in week out in his debut Premier LEague season. Another Belgian, but perhaps too similar to Romelu Lukaku, Villas possible relegation could bring him down a few mill. Stephan El Sharaawy - Age 20 - AC Milan - Cont Exp 2018 - Price Tag 21m Very quick attacker, has been played wide since Balotellis arrival but up top is very deadly. Currently leading the European Golden Boot for players under 23. A good bet but getting Milan to sell would be the stumbling block Wilfried Bony - Age 24 - Vitesse Arnhem - Cont Exp 2015 - Price 12m Lethal striker, has 26 goals in 24 league games this year in the Eredivisie as Vitesse rival the big guns Ajax and PSV for league honours. We have great links with the club and maybe passing off the guy who wants to leave (Kakuta) to them could make it smoother. My pick if we cant get Lewandowski Jackson Martinez - Age 26 - Porto - Cont Exp 2015 - Price 15m Has been scoring freely for Porto since replacing Radamel Falcao and has been touted as Falcaos replacement if they sell him on. Wouldnt cost too much and we have had decent success with imports from the Portuguese league Pierre Emerick Aubameyang - Age 23 - St Etienne - Cont Exp 2016 - Price 12m Gabon forward who is lightning quick and has been linked to us, would not cost too much Recently watched him score two against PSG Alfred Finbogossan - Age 24 - Heerenveen - Cont Exp 2015 - Price 5-6m Icelandic forward who is a bit of an outside bet but wuld cost peanuts, has scored 20 goals in his debut season in the Eredivisie, not too bad Henrik MKhitaryan - Age 24 - Shakhtar Donetsk - Cont Exp 2015 - Price 15m We got a close up of the Armenian striker in the CL this year and he scored a fair amout of goals this year for Shakhtar, would not be cheap and 15m may not be enough, but Shakhtar are a selling club ----------------------------------------------------------- Those are a few I picked upon and they range from between 20-26 and none barring El Sharaawy and Lewandowski would cost more than 20m, what do you guys think
No, we need Torres off our books, and we can't go through a season with two strikers in lukaku and ba.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QOwLafg4w3k Romelu Lukaku's belgian interview (with Eng subs - press cc). Kid has something between his ears. Can go places and become our New high profile signing for next season!!
As per my earlier mention of Wilfried Bony, looks like he is set to sign for West Ham for 12m pounds, missed opportunity I reckon but we shall see
how abt Mario Gomez? Lost his job to Croat Mario.. May fancy a move away to be in the frame for WC 2014.
