OK, we are rumoured with about every man and his dog but have only signed 3 players. We've not yet made that big money signing that gets everyone excited, but it will come. I must admit if we can sign some of the players we are linked with then brilliant, Mee, Mills and Maynard - the 3 'm's! However until they sign it is unfortunately just another rumour! Will CMS sign or will WH high jack this last minute? How long has David Nugent been 'signing today' but has not signed yet...arrrghh! The 3 signings to date look shrewd and in Danns we now have a midfielder that we have needed for a few seasons, great signing for me. So we still need a fair few players -probably 3 centre backs, 2-3 forwards and maybe a winger and I would presume a few will be on their way, probably Howard, Moreno, Neilson etc - just a shame we don't have more in for pre-season, but hopefully will players reporting back some more signings will come quickly. Anyway, if you are like me you are probably checking websites a bit more frequently during this exciting pre-season, but don't you just wish you had a crystal ball and find out who they will sign and help us through this stressful time...!
Very happy with the players we have been after and I think the ones we already have will be good. As you say none of them have been quite jizzworthy but I'm not disappointed with them. Peltier is an unkown quantity in the Championship but has been very impressive at League 1 level, much like CMS. Danns has proved himself in this league and is a good addition, Schmeichel isn't the finished article but is promising and an inprovement on our recent goalkeepers. My only concern is obviously will we get the other players that Sven wants. As mentioned in the other thread, it would be nice to get 'sought after' players that could make the difference between 3rd and 2nd place. It seems we've had a £4m+ offer accepted for Mills but will he want to come to us? Will we spend the same amount on Maynard or will we consider it too much - or will he run out his contract? Whittingham and Routledge are 2 others I'd love to get but it's convincing them to sign that's the stumbling block. It's definitely a bit stressful, if I could fast forward to August I would! Though the weather's pretty decent at the moment
