What is the most memorable Town goal you have seen at a game? I have chosen mine below because at 2-0 down we were dead buried before Marcus Stewart bagged 2 brilliant goals. I was right behind the goal for his second and the memory of him charging over to us to celebrate will live with me forever!

Just a bit of fun but what is your favourite Town goal you have seen and why?

JWM, not sure if you're old enough, but did you witness any Ted Phillips blockbusters? I moved to Suffolk (Bramfield) when I was four, so most of the neighbourhood were Town supporters and I remember someone telling me when I was about ten or eleven, that a Ted Phillips goal had burst through the back of the net!

I don't go back that far but my Dad was a big Ted Phillips fan and he told me that story!

Tony Garnett the sports reporter for the EADT told this story about when he once went in goal for a practice with Ted taking shots at him! Ted fired the first few thunderbolts down on goal when Alf Ramsey popped his head out of his office and shouted "STOP THAT TED! You'll kill him!" My Dad first took me to Portman Road in 1973/74 so unfortunately I never got to see the great 61/62 side play!

Guenchev's overhead kick v Blackburn should be in the list... and Williams' effort from the half way line.

The Beats free kick from our own half against Leeds, not the best goal by a long way but it sticks in the memory!! Especially when he turns and shrugs at us fans laughing, i was in the west stand that day, right alongside him when he took the freekick.
The best goal was any of the 6 we stuck past Man Utd or Mathies long range effort in the trouncing of the Budgies.

The best has to be Roger Osbournes goal against Arsenal in May 78.
I was stood on the terrace that day!!

Mathies first in the 5-0 was fairly impressive.

A few stick in my mind, obviously some of those already mentioned.

Probably one of the most memorable for me is one of the most recent, the Priskin goal against Arsenal, never have I thought we would lose a game more than that in our history, just the sheer shock that it was happening!!

Jim's last gasp goal against Bolton to take us through to extra time also sticks in the mind!!

Darren Bent's winner in the infamous game against Sheffield Utd!!

    Wilnis's goal against Man Utd!!

was going to suggest Wilnis but it wasnt really a favourite goal, more a moment of 'wow - we can do this' acceptance

I would say none of the goals really were that brilliant technically, it was more the occassion and the atmosphere after scoring them!!

Marcus Stewart's solo effort against Liverpool at Anfield is another great goal and showed his composure in front of goal <ok> His goal ensured only our second win at Anfield in 69 years! Not even the great Sir Bobby could win at Anfield! Marcus Stewart was just an amazing goal scorer and ranks in the top 3 of my all time Town favourites!

Thanks JWM, what a great player he was, strange that he only really had 1 full season with us really!! I have to say this video has depressed me, it's made me realise how much I used to enjoy going to ITFC games, something I think most of us can't say in the last few years!!

    Your not wrong PTC!

I remember when Burley first splashed out over £2 Million to buy him from Huddersfield and on his debut against Barnsley he scored an absolute blinder! Talk about making an impact. If only we had a striker even half as good as Stewart was. Like I say one of my all time favourite Town players!

I have to say I really liked our first goal in this game. Great passing and movement against the Scum. Pablo and Dos Santos clicked that day and it was a joy to behold. It those to ever found a level of consistency in our team we would have won pretty much any game in this division.
