I think Arsenal's performance tonight, despite ultimately losing, proves why a team shouldn't be discounted despite a bad result. The morning after Arsenal's 4-0 defeat everybody was questioning the team and Wenger. Arsenal managed to get back 3 goals tonight. I didn't see the game but I think this proves a team shouldn't be judged until it's all over. We have had two defeats in the league and then we could go and win the next three. Don't be so negative before it's all over.
shame they just ran out of juice in the end. gave themselves too much to do but as you say it proves that anything can happen in football!
I always looked at this time of the season when the fixtures came out and thought it'd be tricky. Manchester United is Manchester United. Can't fault the players for what happened. Stoke is always tricky and anything we could have got out of it would have been a bonus. If this is our season "Blip" I'll take it, some teams in this league have had a season long "Blip" We have a great chance to kick on with Wigan at home at the weekend. It's very important we seize it. We have the manager and players to do so.
Just shows how much our expectations have increased over the season. Majority of posters on here would have gladly grabbed 17th with two hands at the beginning of the season. Now some of us are moaning that we've dropped to 11th. Full faith in Lambert & Co to navigate our way to safety before the hairy run in.
Haven't sensed any negativity so far. I think we're always disappointed with defeats even if its to ManU etc. Everyone hopes for something out of every game or nobody would go to matches against the bigger teams. I think the recent run of results has been met with debate rather than negativity. Some peoples glasses are half empty. And lets face it, thats what this site is all about.
Where is the negativity on this forum, there may folk (canary call) who are lambasting the team, i don't see it and agree with red
Its the expectation now as hairy points out Until we get to the 40 points, although it looks like we have enough now, it's that nigling feeling that it's not quite there Also we don't want a bad end to the season as it can run into next
Think you´ve got your wrong specs on wonky, agree with redruth, can´t see much negativity here. I think one or two were perhaps disappointed that we didn´t just streamroller Stoke, after the great performance against Man U, but the two are like chalk and cheese, and it was never going to be as easy as that.
Not saying there is negativity on here, but there is plenty elsewhere. Also, I don't need specs quite yet, I'm a bit too young!
I listened to the first few callers on 'Canary Call' on Saturday and there wasn't the usual 'we're doomed/Lambert out/we need a new keeper' calls that used to happen after a poor run. I along with th evast majority of posters are relishing our lofty league position and barring a monumental disaster, I don't see us dreading the arrival of Aston Villa needing a win to stay in the PL for a 2nd season. For those of that can get to Carrow Road on Sunday, let's get behind our boys from the off and keep up the volume should we be unlucky enough to go a goal down!!
must agree with others on here. i can't recall there being much negativity of late. naturally everyone was disappointed to lose to stoke - well not to lose to stoke, there is no shame in that as they are a good side - but the manner of the defeat and the performance. i don't think we've really hit a sticky patch under lambert in nearly three years, although if we lose to wigan then i think there might be a few alarm bells ringing from a number of fans. i won't be one of them because i think we are literally a matter of 2 or 3 points from safety (if we aren't already) but until we get those there will be some who are concerned. when you think with a little luck we'd have collected those two extra points in our past two matches it shows we aren't exactly struggling! i just think that people spreading rumours about certain players hasn't helped as it creates the wrong tone.
Absolutely nothing to be negative about. Three points on Sunday and realistically, with others around us having really difficult fixtures over the weekend, we could be back up to eighth ! Forget Newcastle away, anything we get there would be a bonus. Beat Wolves at home the following week and that's 41 points and party time. I know that things don't always work out the way you would think but, as I say, realistically it could happen. OTBC .... CTI .... ILWT
even newcastle have slipped a little of late. back to back home draws against wolves and sunderland leaves us with nothing to fear, unless you're scared of heights that is! us fans will be up in the clouds
This is getting a bit worrying now, I keep finding myself totally agreeing with Beef. I think that's about spot on. I don't see negativity either, as Hairy says, we just have higher expectations than we did at the start of the season. Longsight, I agree, what the **** is canary call about these days? I came away from the Man U game listening to some of the weirdest people on the planet ringing in, one in particular was tearing into Bradley Johnson. He obviously was not at the game, and wasn't listening to Rodeo Norfolk either, because, I was during the game, and Chris Gorman did not in anyway mention Bradley in a bad light. It was getting so bad that I actually considered ringing them myself, just to say "What a fantastic team performance" it was. I don't normally get into character assignation (assassination), but, what a load of idiots!! Redruth, good common sense post as usual. ILD OTBC Had to correct the spelling, it was embarrassing!
Jarrold and his boys are going to Newcastle first PL away day for us so we will win Lambo will not have my boys dissapointed on such a big day!!
as I have said before I replace Canary call with the Manic Strret preachers, they have a more positive view on life lol!
To be fair - I think it has got a little better since 'Neil' moved on. I'm sure some people went on there just to 'wind him up'!!!
