This is a new thread dedicated to all things equestrian (other than horse racing). Here you can post your news, views and articles about any non horse racing activity (eg events, personal news/achievements etc). If you feel a topic would be better represented in a dedicated thread please feel free to do so, pre-fixing the thread heading with “EQ” (Equestrian) and I will index it for ongoing reference. From time to time it may be appropriate to group some posts together into a separate dedicated thread, in which case I will do that and index the thread accordingly. Threads that existed before this thread was created will remain in their original form and be indexed from here. Please note it may take a while to locate, re-organise if necessary, and index previous threads Ron's Foaling Index 2013 - an index to our three foals born this summer (2013) New filly foal arrives - Kalahari Kameo born 1-15am on July 14th 2014
Just heard the news that our Dancing Brave granddaughter (mother of our recent foal Romeo) has been scanned in foal again (repeat mating). She was inseminated more in hope than expectation. Puts back my thinking about mating her to Youmzain, or something of similar pedigree. please log in to view this image
Sorry I haven't been posting on here Ron. It's been a hectic rush of work/starting uni and riding with barely any free time. Was meant to be doing my horse's first Intermediate event next weekend but he got bitten by something and it got infected. Poor boy was really sore :-(. Hopefully be out in two weeks! How are the foalies?

Some news (from America) on our home bred stallion Kalahari Mario (sire of Romeo for anyone that remembers my foal posts and video). A young girl (who is at university) is riding him at present and there are 2 videos of him winning with her. She has only been riding him for a few weeks. Fences are pretty small for him but she loves him and the owners think the world of him so that is great news. Video1. Mario Child/Adult 1st Place video 2 Mario $1500 Child/Adult Classic 1st place Amanda has palled up with her on Facebook. So nice to stay in touch when he (Mario) is so far away.

No. These 2 are by another stallion (pictured here), both from home bred mares. I'll get some pics of the foal (Romeo) by our home bred stallion, Mario. He is fantastic. We have already been asked by the present owner of Mario, in America, if Romeo is for sale.
If anyone is interested, our breeder friends have a new web site showing lots of pictures of foals, stallions and mares. It's interesting that they arrived in France, from Italy, in 2000 with a pony as their founder mare that cost 700 Euros. Now they are top breeders in Normandy and one of the top breeders in France; what a success story. (Dreaming) We arrived in France, from England, in 2005 with a home bred stallion (Mario) and a home bred mare (Gemima) both from our founder mare, a pony that cost us £35,000. I wonder ........................................ I can but dream.
