Rules for competitions Rules for the following competitions are stored here. Competitions will link back to these Rules rather than repeat them each time. The eligible races will be stated in each competition. Major meetings: The Betting Competition and the Other Competition The Naps League The Saturday Small Bet Major Meetings A Betting Competition 1. At the start of the competition you will have a bank of £1,000 to bet as you like throughout the meeting on any of the stated races 2. You may only bet with money remaining in the bank (but see Rule 13) 3. You may lay each others' bets but the offer must be clearly stated in the competition thread and the offer must be accepted in the same thread (matched). Once the offer is made it may only be withdrawn if not matched. The offer may only be made if the remaining bank is sufficient to cover the liability 4. Bets may be single or multiples, win, ew, ew all in, or place only 5. All bets must bear the name of the horse(s) and the race 6. If the named horse does not run in the named race it will be deemed a NR (ie the stake will not automatically be placed on the same horse if it runs in a different race) 7. If a bet is made on a horse in a race not in the competition the bet will be void 8. Bets will be permitted at the best available odds* and must be clearly stated along with the selection. All available Tote bets will be permitted in which case returns will be as stated on the Racing Post site. Otherwise all odds will be deemed SP as stated on the Racing Post site. 9. Ante post bets will be permitted but the available bank must be reduced by the stake at the time the bet is placed and the odds must be clearly stated 10. Bets may be placed throughout the meeting but all bets to be advised, on the competition thread, at least 5 mins before the relevant race 11. For the purposes of this competition all place bets will be at 1/4 odds and will apply as follows: 2-4 runners No place betting allowed 5-7 runners 1st and 2nd one quarter the odds 8+ runners 1st, 2nd and 3rd one quarter odds Handicaps 16+ runners 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th one quarter odds Handicaps 25+ runners 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th one quarter odds Number of runners for determining odds will be the number that came under starters orders regardless of whether or not they took part 12. If any doubt the result posted in the Racing Post will be final. 13. Overdrafts. In the event of your bank being reduced to zero at any stage other than during the final day of the competition it may be possible to arrange an overdraft, subject to agreed terms which may vary from day to day. 14. Glossary of betting terms 15 All multiple bets are calculated using Free Bet Calculator * To avoid complication, "best available odds" are only available up to mid day on the day of the race and must be available from 1 or more of the following (as shown on the ATR site above individual races): Ladbrokes Victor Chandler Bet 365 Coral Paddy Power Boyle Sports 888sport Stan James SkyBet Blue Square William Hill 32Red Entry to the competition can be at any stage. No need to bet on the first day. B The Other Competition/ Points & Level Stakes Competitions This is in fact 2 competitions in one, using the same selections. One competition is points based and the other is based purely on level stakes at SP For each of the stated televised races pick 2 (named) horses. Your selections will score points as follows: Selection 1. If it wins: 30 points plus odds to 1 If it comes second 20 points If it comes third 10 points Selection 2. If it wins: 15 points plus odds to 1 If it comes second 10 points If it comes third 5 points In addition, one of your first selections will be your nap. Your points score for that selection will be doubled if it wins. All selections to be in before the first race please. Naps League If you have a nap for today just add it here to be entered into the Naps Table. At the end of each month tables will be produced showing the profit/loss in the month and year to date based on a total level stake of 1 point invested at SP. At any time you will also be able to request a full report of your individual progress (openly or privately). All you need do is enter the name of the horse you are napping. It will be deemed a win unless ew is specified. If the horse is entered in more than one race for the day please specify which race for which your nap is intended. As from Monday 20th June 2011 only naps entered here will be included in the Tables. Saturday Small Bet For those who enjoy a leisurely Saturday competition. Simple rules. You have £100 to play with on the televised races stated. You may either choose your bets before racing or you can bet throughout the afternoon as much as you like provided you still have at least £1 left. Win and ew single bets only allowed with winnings calculated at SP. If you wish to do doubles and trebles they will be carried out as individual bets on an "if cash" basis.(ie a £10 ew double will be treated as a single £10 ew bet with any winnings split equally as a separate ew bet on the next selection, in time order). Please ensure all bets are posted before the off time. If you have indicated a double or treble I will place the second/third legs on if there is any cash from the preceding leg. Sorry, no other type of bets allowed in this competition. Dead Heats In all competitions above dead heats will be settled at FULL odds to FULL stake (ie each horse involved in the dead heat will be treated in the same way as if it had solely occupied its placing).
