The problem is there has been other clubs interfering at the last minute on several of these deals.

Larsson has been linked heavily with Arsenal in the last few days, albeit this story seems to have stemmed exclusively from the Metro, so an especially large pinch of salt needs to be taken with this one.

As for Dong, PSV have been rumoured to offer him a better deal, and a challenge for the Dutch title with possibility of European football. IN our favour however, Ajax won the Dutch title so that takes some of the gloss off PSV for now. Also suggests that he may be better than we thought if he is attracting interest from Europe too. Schalke were linked with him but not nearly as much as the PSV story.

Gardner, apparently mulling over offers from us and Newcastle, and at the moment it seems we are more indistinguishable than ever, so he is taking his time.

Brown linked with Bolton & Everton but IMO he was always a non starter as family came first, so fair play.

O'Shea is trying to pull a Larsson I think and at the very least garner some attention from other clubs to crank up his pay packet from the competition, but should that attention fail to materialise, we may be lucky.

N'Gog and Gibson however, are on the verge of signing I reckon.

Larsson and Westwood are imminent and will be the first ones through the door (Scottwilsonecho). Gibson and O'Shea talks ongoing and O'Shea has shown an interest apparently but Brown doesn't want to leave North-West because of family. Ji Dong is playing his last game for chunnam dragons on 26th or summat so we won't be getting him before then I don't think.

Can't decide whether I love or hate the transfer window.

We can always start rumours......Lets buy the mag superstar...

LEON Best is the latest first-team star put up for sale by Newcastle United, who will take £4m for the Republic of Ireland striker.

A deal for West Ham United striker Demba Ba is close to completion, but captain Kevin Nolan’s controversial move in the opposite direction is not expected to be the last high-profile departure of the summer.

Best was a revelation in the second half of the season, but Newcastle have decided to cash in on him as they push forward with plans for a radical overhaul of their squad

I just hope we slash the cash on a 20 goal a season forward.
