The only noise coming from the club are the usual intrviews by the manager and the players, many of which are fairly negative, or just the usual patter.. But what of the people running the club? Since ES took over as chairman....not a peep.. Since SNQ took over his new role (whatever it really is)....not a peep. So let's take a guess, or pure speculate what is or could be happening...none of us will be correct, but it is quiet.. A few scenarios.. ES is looking for buyers for the club, and had enough.. ES is looking for American investors.. SNQ, took a new role which basically means he's associated with the club, but only on paper. SNQ is busy working hard behind the scenes, and is aiming for Asian investors (this one will probably be popular) The club had ulterior motives for the Gyan deal, and may be looking at the middle east for backing.. Or i'm just talking bollocks, and it's quiet as everyone at the club is happy and ES has his vision for the club, and it'll be done his way, and his way only, and he'll put the money required in..
Bruce is planning for the weekend game. Short is looking after his business and letting Bruce do his job. Quinn is spending time with his family like he said he would. All are in constant touch preparing deals for January. The crisis is in the heads of the fans, the club are quietly gettin on with business.
Crisis what crisis...i never mentioned one.. I was just looking for theories for the silence of the club..and possible investor stories, believeable or non believeable..
Quinny has gone in all but name IMO. As for the crises thing it's all relative. If Man U dropped out the top six, crises. If Chelsea don't make the Champions League every year, crises. If we drop into the bottom three this weekend with a third of the season gone........I know what I'd call it!
And thats my point, if we do crisis, if we win and move up not a crisis. So why worry about something that may not happen, concern yes.
Nice positive thinking Syd!! I can always rely on you to change my half empty glass to being half full!!
It's taken me a long old while to start to doubt Bruce but 1 win in the last seven, 2 wins in the last 12. When does positive thinking become burying your head in the sand?
Syd has a habit of telling nice little stories to spin a nice angle on our current plight but I know deep down inside, just beneath that clever veneer, lies the beating heart of a realist who knows we are in a bit of a pickle. You on the other hand Cyprus I have some real feeling for, as you have, genuinely I believe, invested a lot of time and effort into defending Bruce despite results and performances being what they are. You have had no support from your man at all. He's hung you out to dry with the rest of us with his bizarre team selections, formations and tactics. Our results in the last 9 or 10 months have been akin more to the 15 &19 points seasons humiliations, than a real improvement. Bruce has now been at the club 2.5 years and we are as much in disarray and turmoil as ever we were before him. In fact, Bruces main legacy at this club has been to see off the one man we all love and respect and leave us with a manager that has divided opinion at best and a new owner/chairman who has become the modern day invisible man. Is it a crisis? No, as Bruce can be sacked and a capable replacement hired but if it's allowed to drag on and sink further and further into the abyss and that suitable replacement is no longer available, then we will be in the kind of crisis that nightmares are truly made of. Act quickly Mr Short before our options become limited. Please.
when does negative thinking become depressive, worthless and make you unhappy especially you cant actually do anything about the situation? oh, that's right, negative thinking is always like that.....
Sunderland getting relegated ain't going to send me running off a cliff mate. Would be a shame if we went down cause everyone including Short did now't except ignore a situation which no one can deny, is steadily getting worse.
Morning Cest. I don't think I've been hung out to dry by Bruce. I think the bloke does give his best and is probably feeling like **** 'cause it's not working. I don't think he can be blamed for last seasons collapse (due to injuries) and I don't think he can be blamed for Bent or Gyan leaving. This is why I was arguing for more time for Bruce. Unfortunately 12 games in I see absolutely no signs of improvement. In-fact things are getting steadily worse. For me his time will be up on Saturday if we can't beat Wigan at home.
Heard from a realiable source yesterday and was told the following:- 1. The positioning of the away fans - many mmetings have taken place and there will be an announcement soon. 2. There is absolutely no presuure on SB Now obviously No 2 might e different if we lose the next 2 home games - but I say to all BoBs, SB ain't going anywhere soon so why not stop the negativity and support our manager whilst he is in charge, and get 100% behind the team. Bart. PS - I am certainly not a BiB by the way, my decision on that will be made after the Blackburn game, as I said after we got beat off the official No2 team in the NE.
I really dont see what nice little stories I am telling, a reallist, well is it true that a win on Saturday lifts us up the table, until we lose why worry, concern yes but really we could win so no worry, its bad for you is worry. When we get rid of Bruce I will support whoever we bring in. Am I happ with Bruce, no, he makes me pull my hair out but I refuse to let my life and happiness be spoilt by things I can do nothing about, just how I am.
Belive it or not MrRAW...this wasn't meant to be a Bruce out thread...more of a conspiracy theory on what was happening further up in the boardroom.. However like so many have gone before...he's the only topic at present....shame, and that's from a BoB.
