    Sunderland 0-1 Fulham

    Southampton 1-1 Sunderland

    Crystal Palace 3-1 Sunderland

    Sunderland 1-3 Arsenal

    West Brom 3-0 Sunderland

Now I know what you all are thinking...... Mag on the wind up (although I'd like to think you all know me better than that!). Looking purely on numbers, that is a shocking set of results. You cannot sugar coat it. However, lets break this down.

Fulham - You dominate and were incredibly unlucky. Should have been out of sight and they sucker punched you. Can easily happen

Southampton - Similar to above but the reverse. In essence it is actually a good away point (they have just beaten Liverpool at home!)

Palace - OK this is hard to defend. You were woeful

Arsenal - Always likely to lose. You were amazing in the 2nd half and were screwed. Arsenal are capable of smashing pretty much anyone so no biggie

West Brom - They are your bogey team (a bit like Hull and Derby for us). Sess scored against you ffs! You also played with 10 men when Fletcher came off injured. **** happens but they are also a quality side.

I guess what I am trying to say is that while things look bleak on paper, take a closer look at what is going on during the matchday. You are not far off a total of 7 points if things had actually gone as they should have! Smile and believe. It is all we, as fans, can do!

Agree with most apart from Palace.
I'm with PDC thinking JOS cost us that one big time.

Ah yes of course. I forgot about that. Much like Arsenal, better decision making (albeit from a player this time) would have earned you points. I guess my point is, that small margins are costing you. It is not like there is a gulf between you and your opponents.

Things are bad mate and hopefully they will get better but, with the games we have coming up it probably won't happen for a few weeks yet. Should be an interesting derby mate if we both continue to **** things up.
No doubt you'll get some coming on giving you grief wouldn't worry about it nerves are raw even had one vowing not to go to a game again, we all know that won't happen as we are all masochists when it comes to our teams.

Numerically they are bad BUT performances are an upgrade on what MO'N was dishing up. Eventually things will pick up. Get the crap out the way early, dust yourselves down and power through. Derby day will be a blinder regardless. Hope to watch it with VJ again (albeit with a better result!!)

No offence mate, First time I've come on since the match and the first thread I see is a rallying call from a mag. Rep mate but I'm offski. Don't think I can bear to look through the posts if it's come to this.

Always easy to be like this when looking from the outside. In reality, I am a perennial pessimist when it comes to my own club.

    Excellent post as usual QWOP.

However, unfortunately the Premiership is all about fine margins. When we got relegated with 15 points you might have thought we were getting beat 6-0 every game. Not so, we hardly ever got thrashed that year. But we had no cutting edge and let in stupid goals.

I have a good mate who is a Derby fan (they took our unwanted "title" with 11 points). He told me how they were on top virtually every home game, then let in one and ...

Fact is we need some ****ing points and quickly. Liverpool are not unbeatable. And a point would steady the ship.
