...Modric now needs to put his head down and give us one of his best seasons.

No more of this 'head not in the right place' BS - we've taken a huge gamble, in my opinion, in keeping him and there's a growing part of me that wanted us to ship him off to Chelsea and bring in 'new striker' and Cahill.

If he does work hard now - fine, he's one of the top midfielders around however, I can't help but think the money we could've got (along with our already strong MF even without Modric) could've helped the strikers and defenders.

Defoe, Adebayor and Pavlyuchenko don't inspire a whole heap of confidence in me atm and with Gallas and King regularly injured, I think we'll continue to leak goals.

TLDR - Modric needs to get his head in the game and play well now - if he doesn't - gonna be a difficult season I think.

I don't think we're leaking goals because our defence is poor - its just that they had insufficient help from the midfield. Getting Sandro back and having Parker will do a lot to sort this out.

Modric won't get any offers in the summer if he doesn't perform so I think we'll be all right.

Was thinking the same. I even said before the city game that with Niko and Luka in the centre of the park we'd get over-run. They barely tracked back and Toure and Barry had the beating of them easily. Sandro and Parker will add the steel needed and Modric will need to perform to the top level if he still wants Chelsea and any others to be interested in him come Jan or next summer.
