Could go 10 points clear with a win...is it possible pals? Derby have major injury concerns with only 10 players training on Friday, while Tom Huddlestone is banned. Joe Ledley and George Thorne are out, and Cameron Jerome, David Nugent, Tom Lawrence, Richard Keogh, Marcus Olsson, Ikechi Anya and Matej Vydra are doubts. Cardiff's Aron Gunnarsson is close to a return from an ankle injury, while Joe Ralls is still making progress after a knee injury suffered in training. But Bluebirds boss Neil Warnock could be tempted to name an unchanged side. Gary Rowett told BBC Radio Derby: "We are just trying to get through this last game [before the international break]. "The positive signs are that we would hope that virtually everyone would have a chance to be fit for the next game. Our focus is on getting as strong a team out there as we can and getting a result. "All along I said the top six is our target and we would be defined by whether we get promotion or not. That is the reality of being Derby manager and I am not going to shy away from that." Match facts Derby have only won one of their past six home league meetings with Cardiff (D2 L3), losing 4-3 last season. Cardiff's 4-3 win last season was the first time they had scored four goals in an away league trip to Derby since February 1968 (also a 4-3 win). Derby are unbeaten in their previous 12 league matches played on Sunday (W7 D5), since a 3-1 defeat at Watford on the final day of the 2008/09 season. The Bluebirds are yet to end on the losing side in any of the nine Championship matches featuring Marko Grujic this season (W7 D2); only one Championship player has played more games without losing (Lucas Piazon, 15). The Rams' starting XI average age this season in the Championship is 29 years and 180 days, the oldest in the division. Cardiff have scored the most set-piece goals in the Championship this season (22). Seven of their past 13 goals have been scored via set-pieces.
IF we can take advantage of today's results I may experience a testicular tango.... Pressure is on but our boys in blue have proved they are up to it in recent matches. Lets hope they can keep this amazing run going....
A point would put us a point further clear than we were at the start of the weekend. 3 would be nicer though. We're 7 clear with 8 to play. Surely 10 would be unassailable.
Gary Rowett is playing Colin's card vs Brentford, telling anyone who will listen that he will be playing the whole youth squad blah blah blah... Derby will field a strong team tomorrow YOU HEARD IT HERE FIRST
Derby may not have won in a while and have injuries and their manager has been playing mind games but they have one prickly thorn in our flesh. Cameron Jerome.
Not sure he has the pace he once had and he's not going to out muscle bamba and Morrison. Maybe Colin will put a man marker on him. Still a jinks that might trip us up. Ooohhh for 3 points. Even Colin might start getting excited then.
Leicester game 30 minutes away is on. Mixed feelings about this. It’s not as if we’ve played and lost but with our momentum and Derby’s injuries & suspension it would have presented a great opportunity to increase our hold on 2nd. I just feel Derby took advantage of the weather.
I agree - hope it bites them on the arse and the Wurzels knock them out of the playoffs.....did I just say that?
Interesting situation this...the postponement that is.... my left bollock feels that we had a weakened Derby team to face and in poor form, and could have got a result...maybe! Conversely my right one senses these players are only human and we could prolonged their misery a bit longer. They are nearly five wins behind us with games running out. This game in hand on Fulham and Villa could prove crucial. They must be looking at us and thinking how the fug can they stop us...two and a bit wins ahead, 7 points clear and playing well. Who are they playing next....oh Fug me Burton at home WTF?
We’ve been duped it seems...just watched Songs Of Praise coming from Derbyshire....looked alright to me!
Warnock nor 'appy...... http://www.skysports.com/football/n...rnock-describes-derby-postponement-a-disgrace
Driving to Lake Vyrnwy Hotel for a couple days so listening to radio 5 and Derbyshire police says it wasn't their decision to call the game off. Sounds like it was down to the club.
The Football League should investigate this and take action as appropriate. But will they hell........
