James McFadden has been offered a contract at Wolves following a successful trial, but has left the club to consider his options. McFadden: Considering options .Sunderland are reportedly interested in the former Birmingham striker, who was released in the summer after suffering a cruciate knee ligament injury. But Wolves boss Mick McCarthy was impressed by the Scotland international during a recent trial and wants to complete the signing. McFadden is no longer training with the Molineux club and will consider his options before making a decision on his future. McCarthy said: "We made him an offer, but I understand he has got a few offers Thought this talk had been buried...
If Quinn and Bruce are off to Asia then time is short - at least before Arsenal. Not sure if McFadden is worth pushing through quickly.
"Good player when fit, alleged bender mind ! " Where do you get this from? He's got a family down there in Brum apparently. Good hard working honest sort of player. Not sure how bad the injury from last season was. At this point we should take him and to hell with the risk.
That's one way of getting all 3 of them into a sentence!! McFadden is OK but I'd rather we kept going with Ji and Wickham as I believe they are both better (and come without the risk of injury to some extent) If we signed him as 4th choice behind the other 3 then I'd be happy BTW - why does his sexual preference make any difference?
Good solid work horse...not going to set the world on fire but decent player to have in the squad. He has the experience at least, but no marquee is he?!
I don't think his sexual preference should be an issue, but if we are not going to play the strikers we already have, what's the point of getting another one...
Maybe this has been mis-understood... Perhaps i was just someone over hearing a certain SAFC player asking him if he fancied a bit of charlie...
Worth a punt, good player when not injured as has been said, but I wonder how many injured jocks we need at Sunderland, still,,,,,,,,worth giving him a go.
