This Is my first ever post on here guys so go easy on me

I have been watching this forum from afar since it was first set up and I have enjoyed reading what you all have to say

Now back to the title of the thread

As we all know we are currently unbeaten in the league and I have to say we have been playing some great football but at some point we are going to lose

The question for you all is who do you think is going to be the team that ends our superb run?

For me I have a sneaky feeling its going to Wycombe

Why do we have to be so pessimistic, why can't we think it won't happen? Remain undefeated for the a whole season? why?

    Welcome btw.

As much as I want us to win every game, even the greats lose sometimes.
If we do lose, I think it'll be a shock-loss against a team we're expected to dick.

Remember, 2000/01 when we had that brilliant run of wins (11, 13?) in a row, then inexplicably lost at home to bottom of the table Swindon?

On a related topic, we play Huddersfield on the 26th November, can we be the team to end their massive unbeaten run?

I fear our run will come to an end this Saturday at Stevenage. They showed what a decent team they are when they thumped Wednesday a few weeks ago, and more crucially have been on a really bad run of late - as we all know, even the best Charlton teams have proved themselves capable of losing to teams in awful form (I'm thinking Swindon in 2000).

If we do lose the confidence will begin to drain.

Great minds, Killer and Flash, although it was the 1999/2000 season

I hope their run ends before we play them but I think we will beat them 1-0

It could be this saturday but the main thing is, how do we come back in the next game? Having a good start isn't enough, if we do get beaten we'll need to go on another winning run if we are to escape this division. And that's what Killer said in his column too.

    And welcome, Sid.

Big welcome mate! As for the question, I think the next time we'll lose is in the Champions League to Barcelona away. Back to back promotions followed by a 4th place finish in the Prem.. remaining undefeated the entire time <laugh>.

Welcome Sid Cup Addick. The only team that can stop us is......well...us. We have the management, players and staff that can get us out of this forsaken league so have it all to throw away.

Ah yes! What I do remember, is that it was a Deano howler who cost us the game...a real rarity that season (and most other seasons come to think of it)

the good thing is even though we slipped up at the weekend, MK Dons went and lost Monday night. I think Saturday was a chance to lose as we'd had a few midweek games coupled with tough recent trips to MK Dons and Sheff Utd, now we have a full week to prepare for Stevenage I think we'll be ok heading into the next few games

I remember the Swindon game . We gave Willy Carson £2000 presented to him at half time on the pitch so the Swindon youth team could go to norhern Ireland in the summer to compete in a youth tournament, run by the NI Milk Board I think. Anyway he said the 3 points would help as we didn't really need them and Swindon were in deep dodo. We promptly obliged and lost 1-0. Good fancy remembering that. By then I had moved to the East Stand to escape JA. two hppy memories in one go.

Sorry to add to the pessimism but I reckon Stevenage will do us this weekend as well. As long as we don't drop points to those around us we'll be ok.

I remember the Swindon game. Didn't Deano let fumble the ball into his own net from our throw in?

We never do well against teams that are bottom of the league. I think 5 or 6 teams took points off us last season when they were bottom. Brentford, Daggenham, Walsall spring to mind straight away.
