Always tweeting his support to the players and has today said how hard it is to be watching the battle from the sidelines and that he wishes he were with them. A natural leader that lad and the heartbeat of the team. Should be made captain next year imo. I think he and Adel will be the only survivors of our Championship winning side after this season.
Such a cruel blow for him and the team to have lost him when we did; his skill and presence would have been enough to ensure we would not be in our present fix. Wonder if he has any input/ influence in the dressing room? Could make a difference.
Do you think Ale and Adel wiil stick around if we go down? I'll be surprised, but then I think one or two others may still be with us if we go down - Mackie, Kenny, Cerny, HH, Hill, Hall perhaps if the older ones don't retire. Mackie at least could be with us if we stay up!
He could be usefully employed showing tthe others how to make short simple passes, create space, and tackle!
Missing his passing so much since his injury. Miss watching him spraying out passes out left and right. Hope our ball eteention is much imoproved for the Fulham game.
Forgot Mackie. Yes he will stay as i think MH will improve his technique and value his attitude. Ironic that given the new signings, it has been Mackie who took responsibility against Blackburn and Adel against Wolves and both singlehandely almost changed the games. That team spirit that we had last year helped us overperform and you cant buy that.
Possibly the best words said on here this week and my vote as point of the month ... And yes yet again I am going to mention Barton wonder what his OPTA ratings are for incomplete passes i am guessing he would be near the top.
Bloody Hell the second best comment I think we will all see the value of the team we had and the spirit that drove that ... I certainly enjoyed it and no one will never convince me that the old team couldn't have done a Norwich is things had gone a different way
Sure they aren't too high DT. But reckon Barton is near the top for distance covered - he's been topping our stats for this recently.
Distance covered to me means running around like a headless chicken ... I am just so frustrated that he isn't doing what is expected I know he will get better and we have to trust him ... He is the only player I doubt in our team. Maybe he will kick into gear soon ... he has to or sorry he will be blamed rightly so in our household. Talking a bit about our old team ... Please all keep watching Connolly and Gorkss at Reading they are growing well quickly as they did for us last year ... and that has **** all to do with them finding their level in the Championship ... its pure and simple confidence ... I think Reading will get up this season based on this foundation
Has been missed so much since he got injured. His vision and composure on the ball enabled us to build attacks with a solid foundation. We havent really got anyone else like him, and our midfield has been far too open since we lost him. Such a shame, but hopefully he will come back the same player - you never know with knee injuries.
It's incredible to think that some people were saying that he wasn't very good before his injury!! We've missed him so much!!
