Just read the news that our friends across the city have just lost a legend in Alfie Biggs. Saw him play many times when my misguided uncle tried to make me a Rovers fan like him and failed. R.I.P. Alfie.
Don't think I saw him, but I know he was the generation before the Rovers team I knew with Harold Jarman, Dick Sheppard and co RIP Alfie
Spent quite a few Saturdays admiring him as a "neutral" at Rovers home games in the 50's and enough matches against City when I hoped he wouldn't pop one or two against us. One of Rovers best post war strikers, Bristol born and certainly kept everyone entertained. Sympathies to his family.
Nowhere near my time, but if he's talked about in such high regard by city fans when he was playing for rovers he must of been a great player RIP
