    Can't see anything in this.
    Thought I'd share anyhow.

    Newcastle make Alexandre Lacazette approach
According to our colleagues at L’Equipe, Newcastle United have made an approach for Alexandre Lacazette, the Lyon striker.

In the words of the paper, the player did not respond in a favourable manner.

Lacazette has a €20m price tag on his head.

The player has already agreed to stay at Lyon for at least another season and is reaching the final stages of contract extension negotiations.

The paper also confirms that Liverpool approached Lacazette before deciding to sign Loic Remy instead.

He's not the slightest interested in coming to us. Bollocks to him.

According to Eurosport France we've offered 20million Euros for him. Doubt it's true but if we have offered such a large amount I would have preferred an attempt for Lukaku or Aubameyang (wages make them less attractive to Mike?), mainly because I don't know enough about Lacazette to get properly excited. He may be great though and worth every penny for all I know!

Decimal point appears to be missing from that. Or they mean 20m Francs.

I watch copious amounts of European football and he really isn't that good at all.

His name sounds like pasta dish and his shirt would resemble a supermarket sweep outfit if he signed so he's never going to come

He doesn't look much cop anyway. Certainly not for the figures being bandied about, though if Carr likes him there must be something there. Plus all noises suggest he isn't that arsed. Prefer PEA.

According to Lee Ryder we still have not given up on Lacazette. Unless he's a couple of days behind...

What caught my eye was the story that Italian media are reporting AC Milan are about to offer £12million for Ben Arfa. Someone has been hitting the drink. We'd take their arm off at the shoulder for an offer like that. Unfortunately we'll be lucky to get 10% of that figure.

The stories that Lacazette is favourable towards a move to Newcastle stem from Mark Douglas I think.

I quite like the idea of Wickham from Sunderland to be honest, I think he would flourish here. I wonder what fee would make them do business given his contract situ? Risky of course with either Wickham or Lacazetta. PEA or Lukaku would be much more favourable as you'd get that guarantee of 15 goals plus like we had with Remy and Ba. Tricky one for the club to resolve and much depends on how much faith thye have in Riviere. I could still see us signing no one else.

I think Lukaku is clearly out of our reach now. Chelsea have apparently slapped a £30m price tag on him.

I'm not sure he has ever been in our reach. Even 12m-15m is a stretch for us. I still can't get my head round the PEA rumours, he had a good first season in Germany, why would he leave? If he did, why would he come here, he'd have some great options European football wise.

I think we are unlikely to sign anyone, maybe in January if we are going well.

I agree, but while 12-15m was being mooted there was a very small chance that we would be in for him, because Mike loves an investment. £15m could easily become £30m in a season or two.
