Club statement Scunthorpe United FC can confirm that Manager Graham Alexander and Assistant Manager Neil McDonald have this evening both been relieved of their duties.
Wow, that is a bit of a surprise, though they haven't won for a while are threatening to fall out of the play off places. There seems to be a bit of unrest behind the scenes, Connor Townsend who many Scunny fans really rate seems to have been on the naughty step, and has not been playing and Bishop who has been one of their best players is being played out of position now. McDonald his number two seems to be the unlucky omen, as soon as he joins a club, not long after the manager gets sacked. Step up Andy Dawson.
They haven’t won since new year, they obviously want to go up and give themselves every opportunity to do so. Think it’s the right move, but I dunno who they’re gonna get in now to do a better job. He won’t struggle to get another job, he’s a good manager.
Steve Cotterill is the early favourite. Followed by Grant McCann, Nick Daws, Uwe Rosler and Paul Musselwhite.
I must have missed this, but Dean Keates is the manager of Walsall now. That's a random appointment, he didn't do much at Wrexham.
Didn't realise they'd won since. Even so, one win since January 1st isn't good enough for a team trying to get promoted.
I thought Alexander was working miracles at Scunny to be fair, they sold his two best strikers in Jan an all and bought nobody!
A guy who called into RH after the game against Rochdale Saturday, brought up a number of good points why Alexander should go. One which I thought was interesting was that their form dropped after Lucketti left as Alexander's number two and McDonald (remember him) was brought in.
