    Wall has finished his loan spell early and returned back to Luton.

    I just got into my car in time to hear DC's post match interview on radio Bristol and he basically said that he didnt think that Wall's performance from the bench at Torquay on Boxing day was good enough so ended Wall's loan spell 6 days early. I was quite surprised that DC explained in detail why Wall had been returned. Martin should have been sent back packing a while ago!

    The story on the OS confirms it..... http://www.bristolrovers.co.uk/news/article/alex-wall-returns-to-luton-2169128.aspx

    Rovers have today allowed loan striker Alex Wall to return to his parent club, Luton Town. The 24 year old who joined the club on transfer deadline day, 27th November, was due to remain at the Memorial Stadium until 4th January. Manager Darrell Clarke said;
    “Alex has returned to Luton a week early. He did well for us against Gateshead just before Christmas but was disappointing when he went on at Torquay, which wasn’t what I was looking for. He has all the attributes to be a decent striker, but sometimes things just don’t work out and I would like to thank him for his efforts whilst he was with us and wish him every success in the future.”
    Wall made a total of six appearances during his short time with the club, including an appearance from the bench against Torquay United at Plainmoor. He made his debut against Welling United, on 29th November, one of only two starts for Rovers. He never found the back of the net, though came close at Wrexham when his powerfully struck free kick rattled the crossbar before rebounding into play.

    DC also said that he has a decision make on Martin as his loan spell ends soon. And as Mildenhall will be back soon, Spiess may not be needed. DC added he is looking to strengthen the squad in January by getting 2 or 3 in the door and has Higgs backing.

    Fair play to Higgs and DC - Higgs is obviously backing DC to more or less do whatever it takes to get us out of this league and if things continue as they are, I think there is good cause for optimism. What chances for a 3-0 win against Torquay? That would give us 9 points and 9 goals over the Christmas programme which most other clubs would give their right arm for! With Barnet dropping 2 points yesterday, with a bit of luck, we can keep chipping away and who knows how the table will look in a couple of months or so?

    DC wants us to get back to League 2 ASAP. We are in a fantastic position to do this. If Higgs wants to show that same ambition then he has no choice but to back DC. He must allow DC to strengthen the squad. Its ok in Higgs saying he will back DC but he has to also do it too. With Spiess going back soon, I think Martin will go too & Goldberg, that leaves DC with money available to strengthen.

    I hope we can get Della-Verde back.
    If Goldberg does go, we are left with 3 strikers in Harrison, Blissett & Taylor. Yes I know we also have Brunt too but surely his days are numbered with us where he keeps going out on loan! In his spell at York and now with Stevenage, he still hasnt found the net! So another striker is needed. Can we find that striker who is capable of banging them in as much as Akinde is for Barnet????? On current form would you want to put a striker in replacing Taylor or Blissestt who seems to be getting on very well. Would you want to break that up right now?
