Ah boo-****ing-hoo, all the sour grapes is recockulous, as if we haven't gone poaching young talents from other smaller teams in the past. Often with no-where near an appropriate financial compensation. He wants to play at a higher level and earn more money, we got handsomely paid. Move on.
Not fussed any more. Oxo gave us due credit for his start in football. We should now just sit back and wait for the rest of money to come in as he plays and hope we have a nice sell on clause if he moves on.
Agreed with ken, we have done it, it's how football is, we got £15m with all add ons, we would bs stupid not to accept that. It's done, he's an arsenal player now, doing well. He gave us credit where it was due so while I do think he was money grabbing, respect for that.

That's fine, just so long as when/if he becomes a super-star (ie international football, premiership player of the season contender etc) you don't suddenly start acting all proud and happy, and attempt to take some of the credit. You can't have things both ways. I wish him all the best, and hope he takes the world by storm.
He's gone for a lot of money and you can't blame the kid for wanting a shot at bigger things. He could have stayed to be part of something very exciting here, but he's made his choice and that's just football. He's acknowledged the input from Southampton and apart from the intereview, which was probaably more his dad's doing, he went about things professionally. He's seeing more action at Arsenal than I thought hie might and I wish him well for the future.
Guys and Gals Alex is no longer a Saint.....he is a gunner. Do we really need a thread to hear what he had to say?? He is gone wish him well. Why let it bother us what he now says? Are we really that interested in another teams player?? Have we not enough to talk about within our own team?
I'm not even slightly bitter about him going, £15m will fuel a promotion push. Hints by Capello he could be called up to the senior England squad already, which would be fantastic.
Alex gave 110% in a Saints shirt and was key to promotion, he got his reward, can hardly complain - we got £15m out of it. All the best for the future.
