“We will need to add quality to the squad but I will stick with the hard-core group and make sure they get their opportunity" “I don’t think you can just disband the squad and bring in a new set of players because you lose your identity and it is important to have that. I did the same at Hamilton, I kept the group who got me up from the First Division and tried to add bits of quality in and about it who I felt could make the difference so that wouldn’t be any different here.” “I could have probably told you the expected line up two or three years down the line, in terms of which youngsters were coming through, which would kick on, perhaps the ones who would move.” Full article here: http://www.pinkun.com/norwich-city/alex_neil_aims_to_build_a_norwich_city_dynasty_1_4091981 I'm feeling more and more confident now about our future than I think I've ever done
Yes, I read the article earlier and thought how much sense AN speaks. I wonder who we'll play in the pre season friendlies???
I agree completely KIO. I was certainly encouraged when I read that this morning. This is the attitude and approach I've been hoping for over a number of years.
And he is absolutely clear what he wants to do - this level of confidence and single-mindedness in a manager who is only 33 and STILL doing some of his coaching badges - absolutely amazing!
I think we already have a better squad than we had then with the whole of the transfer window to come. We lost Elmander, Fer. Garrido and Snodgrass, but have gained Jerome, Grabban, Lafferty, Dorrans, Odjidja-Ofoe, O'Neil and Andreu. Presumably any players leaving will be replaced by better quality players so that should be reasonable grounds for confidence on top of the fact that we now have Neil in charge.
we have a great squad base to build on,and the club is in a enviable financial position to improve it. i think A.N can be trusted to spend well in the summer
