Although we have a major problem with our wing backs being out, we also have constant injury problems with Vermaelen. Couple this with Mertz getting used to the prem and Duj and Squishy being near to useless in the CB positions, it would have been great to have him in our squad. Maybe Chelsea didnt want him coming to us as i can't imagine Alex refusing us.

In our current state of injuries, Alex would be playing in the CB role right now. Wenger would move Vermaelen (if fit) and or Kos on the wing back positions.
Yes and No. Luis is great going forward but gets caught out of position all the time. Many other managers would have played Terry and Alex. I think Alex is a quality defender.
