I somehow think that Derek McInnes will not want to sign over the hill ex Premiership players. Neither will the board allow their inflated wages to unbalance the finances. With one or two exceptions, McManus may prove be one and maybe a creative midfielder, I believe that we will see more younger players with ambition and a burning desire to succeed arriving at City.
Seeing as he's been on £60,000 a week at Newcastle for the past few years I doubt he'd need the money. Would prefer younger players with a point to prove though.
His "best before date" has long since expired so no thank you. We need up and comers who are out to prove themselves and have a bit of self respect and commitment.
Not a player that I would like to come to the club as he is injury prone and as said is past his best. Just what I heard from a bloke down the local who claims a family member at the club told him the manager has been looking at him so dont know if that means Alan Smith is out of contract and could just be a cheap option but I would rather see some youth player who has been released by one of the top English Prem clubs who just missed out on the cut come to us. You only have to look at Ince at Blackpool as they got him from Liverpool last season. Turned out to be a very good player.
