Don't you just love a publicly humiliating U-turn, every week Lineker asks him on MOTD, he sits there and scoffs "naw chance!"...Now this!... http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/16516752.stm Which has got me thinking how much I'm going to love watching the likes of Merson, Gale etc, having no choice but to utter those words on TV.
The media does not make news it follows it. Commentators do not play football they watch it. Pundits do not run football teams they just wish they could. Their comments have no more value than yours or mine. I treat their remarks with the same caution that I treat yours, except that I read yours and don't watch theirs. You win! What's your opinion?
Reads like a "Spurs are 3rd and playing well, better say something nice about them" article. Otherwise it could read like a how disappointing have the others have been.
i just wish they was'nt on motd, then we could see more of the Games,it really pisses me off having to listen to watch should have happened, intheir opinion, i go and make a cup of tea
....no opinion really, my point is immensely enjoying the anti Spurs pundits who've enjoyed sly, mocking digs for years, having to squirm telling the truth now. I'm just enjoying every minute of this.
To be fair. Some of the criticism of Spurs in the past, has been justified. We have flattered to deceive, and failed to deliver on so many previous occasions. I've followed Spurs for over 50 years, now, this is the first time in many years that I have felt that we finally have a well balanced side - a side able to defend, as well as attack. A side that won't just crumble if you "get stuck into them". I genuinely believe that this is the team that could finally bring alive my hopes of seeing us win the title again, before I pop me clogs.
I don't mind criticism when it's justified, but we were often panned for ridiculous things. Doesn't help when we seem to end up with Alan Smith or Tony Gale commentating on so many of our matches at the moment, either. Bitter pair of twats.
You haven't had to listen to Smith and Gale then, Lidls. The constant, poorly veiled digs are immensely tedious. Worst case that I can think of in the pre-Redknapp era was for the 4-3 win at Upton Park a few years back. When Stalteri scored the winner, the commentator actually says, "OH NO!". 3.10 onwards for the commentary on the goal.
