Former Liverpool captain Alan Hansen, who lifted the club's last top-flight title in 1990, said the season must be regarded as a failure given that the Reds had the title in their own hands with four games remaining. Hansen told Match of the Day: "It's a failure, an absolute failure. You get into that position with four games to go, if you had gone into that dressing room today they would not have been celebrating anything. I think it will be massive disappointment. "If you are at the start of the season, Liverpool would have bitten your hand off to finish second and be in the Champions League, but with the title in your own hands, it's failure."
Devastated Rodgers admits he expected to win the league too: "I was hoping to be on a red-top bus tonight.' http://hereisthecity.com/en-gb/2014...e-on-an-open-top-bus-tonight-brendan-rodgers/
Gerrard Adams has been arrested again. He is being quizzed over the disappearance of thousands of Liverpool fans
Getting boring now London, same **** all the time. Chelsea did **** all this season and your sitting there as if your club have been brilliant.
I voted yes, but hesitantly. It depends on how you look at it really. Obviously after finishing 7th last Season, 2nd is a massive success rather than failure, and also taking into account that Champions League will have been the pre-Season aim, that was achieved too, so success. However, looking at how Liverpool were clear on top of the table, beat Manchester City and still managed to slip up (the Palace game being an absolute gem of an example) would make it a failure. It's a more, "are you a glass half full, or half empty kinda guy?" situation.
Theres something ironic about a poster named Candy Man posting about Liverpool bottling their first title since they were the candy men.....
To be fair Chelsea won the CL in 2012 and Liverpool fans played it down and claimed they were a nothing club because they hadnt won 5 so like most fans, hes taking the chance to have a go at Liverpool. At least he tries to be funny and doesnt automatically resort to digs at the dead like Mr P of el.
It was his last ever stint on MOTD and he fancied being controversial to finish. Who cares what a washed-up jock thinks anyway?
Nah, Hansen works for the media. Personally I dont give a stuff what he said. And I dont think many of our other posters did ether Im happy with our season, thats the end of it for me. We have clearly progressed
