Anyone have any info, opinions, or rumours on this Appleby/Godolphin colt? Starts out on Saturday in the Guineas, entered in the Dante, English and Irish Derbies and the King Edward VII.

Two from two last Season, at HQ and Deauville, then not seen since last August. Just wondering, was he put away for this season's big targets, or was there a set back?

Looks bred in the purple (not that I know anything about breeding). 20 on Betfair for the Guineas, 5.6 to place. So I've had a bit of that. Buick rides.

All thoughts, observations etc. gratefully received.

There was no set back to the horse Archer. According to Charlie Appleby, Hilalee was put away after his Deauville win because he was a big unit and had done enough.

They packed him off to Dubai for the winter and he arrived back at Newmarket on April 28. He was supplemented for the the Guineas because he's been thought of as a potential Derby horse. They are using the Guineas as a Derby trial.

Quote from Appleby: “Al Hilalee pleased us in a racecourse gallop at Meydan on 20 April and we have decided to supplement him for the 2,000 Guineas. He is not going to look out of place in an open renewal and I am confident that he can run a big race.”
