Ainsworth scored one and laid on the other as England drew 2-2 with Scotland in the final before triumphing in the shootout. It wasn't the first time the Blues boss had scored on England's way to becoming world champions, as he netted a hat-trick inside eight minutes during a 6-0 thrashing of the USA in the group stage and a header in the 2-1 win over Iran in the semi-finals. Richardson, now the goalkeeping coach at Adams Park, captained the England side during a 1-1 group stage draw against hosts Thailand. The England squad was largely made up of Harrogate Veterans FC players. Ainsworth said: "Itâs an amazing experience and Iâm very proud to wear the England shirt. The tournament has been first class and professionally run. "Itâs been harder than I expected even after playing League Two football. Altogether itâs been a fantastic experience." During the tournament Ainsworth and Richardson took part in coaching sessions with children in the Sa Kaeo area and had dinner at the Governorâs House - where the Wanderers chief took lead vocals on a rendition of "We Will Rock You" by the England squad.
