hey guys arsenal fan (i know i know) in peace. First off congrats again for obtaining succesive promotions you definitely deserve it. Second off i was just curious what your aims will be for next season. I know most of you will aim for survival but i actually feel you can make it into the top ten. You've got some great players (lallana, lambert, heard fonte is good too) and a dedicated manager with a substantial fan base, not to mention the new team phenomenon (e.g swansea) so i don't see why not. Other than that i've actually put a tenner on it! Thanks a lot for oxo and walcott (yes yes i still rate him) and hope you keep the rest of your gems!

    1. Stay in the Prem.

    2. Start working the young talent into the fold.

    3. Don't allow the young talent to get pinched by your lot again!

I would be very happy just to stay in the premiership, maintaining most of the team we had in the Championship, and bringing a few new players in and introducing some of our promising youngsters. its part of our long term plan to bring on the academy, and we should stick with it.

It's great to be underestimated and sneak a few wins like Swansea and Norwich, but that new team novelty only lasts a season. Survival is our main goal next season. Bringing through the youth is a secondary aim. IMO it takes three seasons before a Premiership team is established. Once a team is established they can start building for the future and regularly plan for a top ten finish, challenge for a cup and enjoy the occasional Europe jolly.

Nice to see you cb, I occasionally post on your board, but am constantly reading it! Your a bit of a thread machine. Agreed with the above about keeping and using youngsters as well, i'd like to try and get a mid table finish also.

Avoiding relegation has to be the main goal this season, I do believe we have the core of a squad that could achieve more but even if we buy well, who knows how those players will settle in? Would like to see a few of the youth 4 promoted to the first team get some run outs if possible as well.

The club's objective will be a top 10 finish as our chairman and manager are highly ambition, but us fans me included would take a 17th finish now.

I think we will finish somewhere between 10-15th.Should be a fun season!

Goodness knows! I hate to think that the sole ambition of any club is simply to survive. A lot will depend on how we strengthen the squad as I can't see our current team competing with the teams in the top half of the division.

That said, the fact that the core of the team has been together for so long will count for something. So, I'd like to think if everything goes as well as it could - top half. I'm not sure if I'm dreaming though!

Chairman Nicola Cortese has ambitions far beyond merely surviving in 17th place next season. You only need to look at the announcement of a Champions League club quality, £15 million training ground and category 1 academy whilst Saints were in League One to see his ambition and the resources he has at his disposal. Cortese/Liebherr didn't buy Saints for them to be mid table in the Premier League as former chairman Rupert Lowe was happy to do so with his lack of investment. Things are clearly very different now.

Back in August of last year I saw no reason why Saints wouldn't get promotion - most here were expecting a top ten finish! I'm going to be wildly over-optimistic and go for top 6! If we are savvy enough, why not??

Precisely..! I would add that by year three I would like Saints to be poaching from Arsenal's academy. That would bring some satisfaction. <laugh>

Winning breeds confidence and allows you to overachieve. If we start well then we should be ok or do quite well, otherwise it may be a tough introduction to Premiership life, but we will see what happens over the summer first.

How do you see Arsenal progressing; will Bold help improve your defensive qualities?

haha yeah you'll be amazed how being quiet in reality can have an effect in that respect. Genuinely hope you gus achieve that mid table finish though best of luck saw shaw at the victory shield when do you think you'll blood him in (dont worry though we're well stocked in the left back position)

not really tbh i see that u18s play and defensively they're a mirror image of the first team and regularly concede from set pieces though having said that angha and miquel aside we really don't have any real talents in that position though i've heard our u16s are pretty good. However he is more austere than wenger and will hopefully instill more decilpline in the team.
