Once that happened Aiden. Once. And it was a fizzy pop game that no-one cared about

Its funny because my mates a big Millwall fan and everything he said to me turned out to be true when he signed, which inevitably led to him dropping down from the Championship to League 1...
He has plenty of ability and workrate, but not prolific enough to be a main striker, and not quick enough to play out wide.

A parky signing, says it all. Johnson was never going to fancy him, as those two managers couldnt be further apart in the way they want to play. I find O'Brien saying his time here was abysmal an absolute joke. The problem was all at his door really as he lacked any sort of technical ability to fit into the way we played. He digs out Johnson but even Parky didnt play him much if memory serves. So many of the players we signed in our first 2 years down here havent really lasted the course and it shows what a nonsense some of what we did, prior to the new owner. I will give O'Brien one thing, he wasnt as bad as Danny Graham was in this division, at least he coule run.

He also tried, wholehearted but very limited, and probably on good money , so had to go. As you say our recruitment now is first class compared to what went before. It might take another window to balance up in some areas, but at least we are heading in the right direction.

Exactly this mate. Very few signings we make you can argue dont fit. We had a hiccup with Defoe, IMO, but largely we have a good approach. Alex Neil, in the summer, will have a great opportunity. I hope he trust some of our young lads though.

got nowt against the lad and in a way can understand his comments...he is not really having a go at the club or the fans but his limited time on the pitch, when he was on the pitch he put a shift in but i honestly cannot go to a game and think 'he made the difference' and that, i am afraid is why he spent more time on the bench and as already said he had some ability but for some reason could not put it all together when on the pitch, one game great work ethic, next game putting his weight around, next game pulling off a couple of great passes or moves, next game on the score sheet, if he could tie them all into one game he could do well.
