Last week we were linked with this player. Would we be happy to sign him? The reason I am asking is a previous colleague who now works at Newcastle airport and organises flights for Sunderland was asked to order tickets for him to fly over from Russia. Make of that what you will.
He's a very skilful lad, who carries the ball well, and is a half decent finisher. On the downside, he is inconsistent. I think he'd be worth a punt, but the price would have to be right. MON knows the lad well, so if he signs him, I trust him on it.
a cut and paste from a facey convo with a massive Hoops fan.... McGeady? Any good? we're in for him, apparently on his game quality left or right foot if one man can get the best out of him its oneill aye, inconsistent? he's quite quick/skilful ain't he? aye hes defo worth a punt how much? hasn't been said, they reckon it's around £10million tho, seems a bit steep! You reckon he'll hack PL? i think he could flourish there should suit his style good stuff, if MON's had him, then seen fit to try and get him, well I trust MON!
I know I debated whether to post it but I have no reason to believe its not true. Be interesting to see what happens.
Stokes! Look at how well he's done in Jockoland. Hope MON knows how to use him in the Prem if we go for it...
Not for me either, he has not exactly played at the highest level. Would rather have McClean and keep Ricco as back up.
I'm a bit of a fan really. He was very young when he was at Celtic and a bit wet behind the ears but 2 years in Moscow will have toughened him up imo. I'd be happy with £8m to £10m for him and he can operate both flanks and through the middle.
i know it's youtube but the bhoy's got some moves like
Not sure to be honest. There are loads of examples of players that look first class in Scotland and then disappear without trace in the EPL - Boyd and Miller spring to mind not to mention how good Stokes looked at Falkirk before he came to us. On the other hand there is the likes of Jelavic at Everton who has turned round their season. 50/50 at best
Undoubtedly a skillful winger, but it depends how much, did he go to Russia for lots of money and high wages? We would need a couple of decent strikers to get the best out of him and McClean, cos' we would have lots of crosses coming into the pen area (Bendtners no good cos' he shuns the pen area too often). But if we signed a couple of strikers and McGeady that would be good business for the summer for me, we can then get by with a bit of a clear out of the squad and Ji/Wickham out on loan and Campbell as back-up who has to come good following a pre-season etc.
I liike what I've seen of the lad in the past - he can play right sided or through the middle as well as on the left and can play with both feet - he's not a "Left winger" - he is simply a winger! If MON likes him then I have no problem with us signing him
