Watched the game on a live stream and thought Warnock got it spot on tactically. Agyemang worked his socks off up top, didn't have a chance to show off his woeful finishing but was strong and gave the Everton defence lots to think about. Was physical and I think could be a starter in these away games in a 4-5-1 we played last season. Always one to give him stick, but he did well today as did everyone.
Fair point on the away games due to his physicality I suppose, but wouldn't Bothroyd be equally as good at that together with having a better all round game?
Dave played cos Jay Both and DJ had the ****s. Fair play to him though, worked his nuts off alone up front and put the EFC back 4 under pressure. First touch, finishing and all round ability are a worry though... Hope the injury isn't too bad...decent impact sub.
It's funny how different people view the game. From my view, admittedly one hindered by a pillar and a few pints, I thought Agyemang was abysmal, won nothing and was silently relieved he had to go off, though obviously hoping it's not too serious.
I have a soft spot for Dave because he is a trier but he is barely championship class never mind Premier League.
I'm totally with you on that. Well he won headers against both Jagielka and Distin (couldn't win a header in the championship to save his life though), and won free kicks in dangerous areas. But lets not be pedantic and let the facts get in the way
I recon that if we want to keep him we should send him out on loan to a lower league club to get some confidence in him.
Despite his failings he could prove to be useful on occasion, Devon White was hardly the most skillful but was a handful for the opposition. Who knows, he might score a couple and his confidence could rise tenfold.
His first start under warnock , and am suprised tbh. I would never have had him near the squad last year , let alone this year. Though Helguson might have got the nod in front of dave. I will cheer what ever xi take the filed for my club but cannot see what qualities this guy brings.
I still recall that first handful of games he played for us under LDC. He was quick, powerful and scored goals for fun. And then... well he just became Dave and the rest is a pretty abysmal history. You can't help thinking there is a player in there trying to get out but I suspect this will have been his one and only start this season. On the plus side Rob Hulse makes Dave look like Pele...
