http://www.chelseafc.com/news-artic...eement-reached-for-transfer-of-andre-schurrle Not everyone's cup of tea, but delighted to have him, as far as I'm concerned it's a definite upgrade on Moses and Marin
I've always said: 2 quality players for each position. Is that us sorted for attacking midfielders/wingers? Hazard, Mata, de Bruyne, Schurrle, Oscar, Ramires. With Marin/Moses out??
How can he not be anybody's cup of tea? The guy has been fantastic every time I've seen him and a proper left sided player just what we need who can play striker in emergency situations. Well done Chelsea!
Schurrle, Mata, Hazard is more balanced than when Oscar plays and looks to have more quality then when Moses plays. To that end, it provides competition for places, strength in depth and probably a stronger starting 11...i.e good solid signing of a young international with lots of time to grow. Could this mean Oscar in a deeper role next year?
Not sure on the need for him tbh but another very promising youngster to add to a very young attack. Lukaku,Hazard,De Bruyne,Mata,Schurrle. I hope everyone can be patient and not expect miracles overnight next season. Jose has some exceptional talent to work with but it will still take time. Once we are set though the players could be together for many years. (Bye Moses and Marin I would imagine).
Agree. I'd aim for top 2 & a trophy this season then try and build. Not being able to win the CL and PL doesn't mean these are bad players, but they are all pretty much 20-23 and will take time to mature. When they do, we could be as good as any team in Europe IMO.
De Bruyne isn't a winger. We need a naturally wide player who is good enough to play with our current attack. It was evident how dog **** we were when Oscar played out wide.
Spot on, means we can move either Hazard or Mata on the right where they are better (than on the left).
Surprised to see a few of you wanting Moses out, he seems to offer something different for you guys last season and definitely provides an alternative option. Good player to have on the bench IMO
I think central is and should be cemented for Mata. Hazard is much more a winger than Mata is, I think Hazard would still have equal impact on the right as he does on the left.
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...urrle-joins-Chelsea-18m-Bayer-Leverkusen.html You can see some Schurrle belters here. Is he right-footed? His left peg looks decent too
Some belters with his right too a couple of mins in: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=CGjUJsGyQ7Y
De Bruyne plays wide for Belgium and he's been their best player this world cup campaign. Where else do you see De Bruyne playing? He's far more effective further up.
